A friend was looking for help with this issue so I had a look into it.

Importing an FBX model into mac then clicking on import&manage under materials causes the renderer to go blank.

Affects Version: 0.14.2.2 (Main & Demo)

Platform: MacOS ARM or MacOS Intel

Reproduction steps:

Use MacOS (tested on both ARM and Intel)
Import an FBX Model (using FBX2gITF v0.13.1)
Click on model and click on Materials Tab
Click Import & Manage
view results

I tried a few of my own FBX assets which all do not have the textures embeeded and found that trying to edit them on MacOS would break.
Doing the same on Windows worked fine.

I downloaded an FBX from sketchfab which had the Textures Embedded, and on import it worked, but again clicking import and manage cause it to break

Hello, Sorry for this being so delayed in response.
I am no longer working on this project.
I released my patreon exclusive prototypes for what would have been the continuation here: https://thequietdomain.itch.io/aroused-in-space-patreon

Thank for you saying so, The answer is... sort of. There is a new game in the same world that is going to be finished, but it's currently being worked on really slowly due to requiring another job for finances

Okay. turns out I flat out can't make a mac version until I have a mac.
Control Freak Apple do not allow you to build for Mac if you aren't on one

Very likely, as AiS is made in UE4.
Problem is I would rather not release unless I can test on some sort of Mac device, and everything I currently have access to is a decade old (and not working).
I will likely release a mac build of the demo once it's got all the planned features to see if it's a viable platform to support

Hmm interesting... Will definitely have to get some quality settings and maybe a debug log. Not sure what it is either, but thank you for reporting it

Thank you for recording this, it is good to see a fresh player
