It would be cool if you added some physics. Or maybe the shadows told truth.

I think this could be a really cool personal game. Maybe add more characters, reoccuring characters, etc. ( i know it's a week only, but that was my thoughts regarding the future)

MY game only has 4 ratings.

Pretty cool. I like the spring jump mechanic. I'm not exactly sure how it goes with the Jam's theme though. The audio was good.

Sure. I'll check yours out:

This wasn't my first game jam. But what i learned:

  • Exporting a game in unreal
  • Funny: Upload the fully contents of the build folder for unity games (played some games, unfortunately that were only .exes)
  • Be careful when moving levels (maybe at least while they are somewhat active) in unreal. I lost my original level because i tried to move it's file for organization.

My game:

I kept falling through the beginning platform. The player could move a bit faster also. Great job for a first game though. You could maybe make some sort of way to determine fake platforms, maybe their a slight shade different?

I had to cut my menu out. It wasn't much though. It was working for the longest time. Then i was crossing all my 't's and dotting my 'i's in the final stretch. That's when it stopped working, and i had to improvise it out.

Interesting. This is definitely an interesting take things, usually we are on the other side of the booth. I think this would make  a fun mobile game, especially if you added the ability to buy rewards with the coins (new bottle skins, music upgrades, etc..). It took me a couple tries, but i finally got to the ending (i lost at 96 the previous time, that really hurt). I like it. Something cool i thought of, if you see the balls coming earlier, and can move faster; but have a "suspicion" meter. If you move to much people get suspicious and you lose eventually. Also, maybe spend coins to "glue" yourself down for one turn. Great Job.

probably because it's not web? Your comment seriously means a lot to me. I'm gonna try and rate your game right now.

I'm not sure about how it goes with the theme though. I like the character art style. The characters should say something different after you interact. I didn't see an attack animation though, and i could only attack enemies from behind. Good work though.

Played it. Rated & Commented/

I just wanted to point out you can sort the submissions (https://itch.io/jam/cgj/entries) by least rating and haven't rated.

I'm gonna try and rate 5 more at least of the least rated games. I aim to have at least 10 ratings.

Link?

It was a fun time. Ran into some issues later on that required some improvision. I also made sure to continually ask myself "what is the theme?" (which we already know), and how does this (a specific feature) go with it? Also, is the game flowing in a direction consistent with the theme?

Sometimes i found myself in feature creep that didn't specifically go with the theme, so i would have to correct myself and try to make it consistent.

LOL. I had a last minute menu glitch about 2hrs before cutoff. So i had to improvise that, lol. I knew i would need time for submission and building/compiling, so i didn't wait until last minute.

Overall i'm glad i entered. I'm thinking how i want to proceed with my game.

Here is my game:

I like it. Movement could have bit a bit smoother though, and maybe bullets faster and less damage. So  i don't have to worry about missing and hitting the wrong thing. But i liked  it. The music was good. The art style was simplistic and good as well. I love the simple confetti style particle effects. Great Job.

I like the premise. But i think theres a bug in your submission. I only get one ammo, and don't see any ammo boxes respawning. I usually end up shooting (or most likely missing) a hologram, and then i'm just out of ammo.  occasionally the player shoots when out of ammo....Not exactly wwhen. Great idea though.

I believe i heard about this Game Jam from Brackeyes on youtube (https://www.youtube.com/user/Brackeys). I believe a lot of other popular YouTubers helped put this together. Does anybody know if they had entries? I guess i can also wait for a new video upload.

Also, how did you hear about the jam?

I will give it a shot. Here is mine if your interested:

I gave it a shot. I like the easter egg. Couldn't get past the first level, i'm not good at breakout. But i like the physics remix of a classic game. I thought it was interesting with the paddle also braking and the side bar thingys. That's a fresh spin on things. Some sound could really liven it up, but i didn't get much sound in my game also so i cant criticize. Good job overall.

Just wanted to say. Making a game is not easy or simple. You don't have to be making some super realistic open world multiplayer game with DLC and such to be a game developer.

Congrats and good job, YOUR'RE A GAME DEVELOPER!!

I made a game callled the VBoxStation Experience.

I love the look and feel. The screenshot caught my eye. The music fits well. It is in need of some more instruction though, i did find i got stuck after getting the teddy bear.

Screenshot definitely caught my eye, will check this out.

Solo developer here. Heres my submission:

Please also rate it. I'll check out the games you guys posted also.

Played & Reviewed Mirror Mirror. Was like "I don't get how this follow's the theme, i can just turn around and move around (i don't have to use the mirror)" then i started  getting to some levels that required using the mirror and i was like "OHHHHHH...Cool!"

Nice. Jumping could be a little bit higher with a little more hang time.

I tried your game. I like it. It's got a good quick feedback loop. Would make a great mobile game also. (Replied to your post as well.)

It's a quick fun game. It's got a short feedback loop but, it does pull you in. I find myself trying to fight that part of my brain that instinctively follows direction. How do you sprint? I see a bar for it.

I figured we could share some thoughts regarding the theme. What you liked or disliked about it. Where it may have made you stumble, or anything cool you thought of.

I felt it was weird that "The game is a" was part of it. Maybe it was just to make it more interesting. Maybe it was just odd (imo) wording. I thought perhaps just "Liar" would have been a better theme. But maybe thats what they were going for.

The theme partially reminded me of a game i saw on youtube called The Stanley Parable....or at least, that's a slight approximation for how i interpreted it.

What about you?
