no problem, i commend you for being able to make a game with so much to discover!

(1 edit)

Update: I started putting one together, just for fun.

https://copper-odyssey.fandom.com/wiki/Copper_Odyssey_Wiki

It's nowhere near being exhaustive, but it's got a couple useful tips and secrets listed that I've found. If anyone wants to add to it, go ahead.

Also, warning, there are obviously spoilers for secrets and enemies, so don't click if you want to discover them yourself.

This was fantastic! I love exploring and finding secrets in games like these. I'll be playing through this one a couple more times trying to experience as much as I can. After I beat it the first time, I found out it was on Steam, and so I bought it there just so that I could have it in my library.

I wonder how many people would be willing to contribute the secrets they've found to a wiki?

for what this game is, i'm genuinely impressed with the design of the boss patterns. you make great stuff, i can tell these must be very fun for you to make

You can start from the 2nd boss by holding the 1 key when you press Enter, and you can start from the last boss by holding 2, as it says on the itch page. I'm glad you like it tho

I came across that bug too. It's super annoying, I wish I knew what was causing it!

I'm glad you enjoyed it so much! Here's a tip, tho: no attacks are unavoidable.

good luck

these codes are on the itch page yes, secret. don't tell anybody

the music was great. the sound effects and grease trails are Deeply Upsetting but i have to give top marks regardless because you found the threshold between gross and unplayable. most of the puzzles were pretty easy, but there are some interesting ideas here. good work to all involved

i am deeply disturbed

Thanks for the kind words. Here's a tip: If you want to skip to the second or third bosses, hold 1 or 2 on the title screen when you hit Enter.

Thanks for the compliments. I did fear that maybe it'd be too hard for people, but it's hard to tell that kind of thing yourself because it's always easier when you're the one making it. Maybe it's easier if you know that dodging and counterattacking immediately afterwards is the key to getting lots of hits in? Plus knowing exactly how many punches you can get in after each dodge. Who knows.

As for it being a puzzle fighter, that was partially the goal. Figuring out the right way to attack is part of the fun of Punch-Out!!, for me anyways.

I'm glad that you enjoyed it!

very fun! also very difficult. makes me want to play a game like this maybe with more mechanics

To beat the red guy, dodge in the correct direction to avoid his hooks, then when he reaches into his jacket: punch him if he pulls out a knife or dodge if he pulls out nothing.

Edit: The best way to get damage is to attack multiple times immediately after successfully avoiding an attack. You get in more hits that way! This game was inspired by Punch-Out!! for the NES where that's the main way of attacking opponents.
