There is no tutorial as such, when talking to the NPC near the stairs he will give you information about your objective. 

We are working on it, the game was made in a simplified way for fast gameplay because of the Jam, so we are still modifying some things.

I'm sorry you had to go through this frustration, this was actually an unfinished test map that I forgot to disable and you ended up finding. I'm really sorry about that and I hope you can give the game another try in the future.

Yes, the update ends with Thays' last speech, and I even recommend saving before leaving the cave. About the poison... that's something I ended up forgetting, I intended to add the antidote along with the poison slime. 

Are you referring to the version before the cave was added? And just enter the passage behind the stone slime. About the bug, I will take a look and try to fix it in the next update.
