Very nice game. Infuriatingly hard but well done :)
The simple graphics work nicely with the post processing and the audio to make for a lovely retro-like atmosphere.
It's polished nicely too, the movement feels very smoot. The hitboxes and the ground detection could be more accurate though.
Nice work!

Hey there, congrats on winning 3rd place! You did great :)
I'm going to announce the winners on our discord server, do you maybe want to join it so I can mention you and give you a role? Or, if you're already there, what's your discord name, cuz I can't find anyone named Gunroar.
If you wanna join, here's a link to the server: https://discord.gg/8xD5mGNnab
Thanks for the kind words :)
The mania did come a little short in my cover. But you're right, the perspective through the camera does give it an eerie feeling. Paired with how unusually close the moon appears it's kind of surreal. Almost like an end of the world scenario. It's not energetic, it's calm, but sort of threatening.
Man you don't fail at putting something into words, thanks for the comment <3
Some constructive criticism if I may, I feel like the "Mega Moonlight Mania" doesn't fit the composition all too well. The "Azakaela" works, it looks like a neon sign in the background, but the title looks a little out of place. I think the color doesn't really help it and the font kind of reminds me of pirates, which sort of makes it stand out as not part of the scene. I do however like how it sort of looks like it's floating into the scene, which does tie it into the whole cover.
But again, I really like the atmosphere, it feels like a calm and chilly night in a futuristic city. It makes me wonder what business Moon Girl is up to. She kind of looks like a ghost to me and it seems like she's in a hurry, which both helps bring across the mania. Nice work :)
After having listened to all the submissions I have to say this has to be my favourite. It's such a lovely melody and at the same time calm as it's sinister. The build up to the climax and then the way the melody slowly pans out take the listener on a short journey and I can imagine a drone shot of the swiss alps when suddenly the villains lair is revealed and we watch him as he prepares his schemes. Then as the melody pans out we zoom back out and the drone takes us back to watching the alps.
The different string parts and the sudden gong at the climax play together so nicely and I could listen to this melody on repeat. It's a shame it could only be 30 seconds long. You did a wonderful job!
This is a very nice submission :) The rhythm and melody make it feel like the villain stepping into an arena, prepared and ready to prove himself and restore his reputation. You do well at evoking these emotions. The rising effect at the end adds to the threatening feel. Whoever this villain is, I don't wanna be the one who wronged him.
This is one of my favourite submissions. It stands out from the crowd and I love the vibes. The sound effects tie it together nicely and make me imagine a scene where the John "Lucrative" Smith is introduced. I especially love the "heheh, I'm sold" :)
The little backstory you added to the project page and the cool villain name make me want to see a movie about this guy!
Hey thanks for the kind words :) I'm glad you like the emotions my theme evokes. As well as the sword sound, I've always wanted to make a piece with this effect and I like how it fits.
I did indeed not intend for either of these references. But it's cool that my piece reminds you of these different things :)
