It makes me so happy that you love the game! Really helps me stay motivated!
So, RE: Midboard changing - Im glad you like it and want more because that's exactly what is coming next. I envision each table have 3 or 4 layers. Some will be linear, maybe some will be more like "dungeons" where theres things to do. I myself like unlocking new areas in games and it just seems to fit well with what Im going for.
Please do link me your playthrough - I'd love to put it on the steam page too if thats cool?
Hey there!
I really appreciate the kind words. I managed to find you on Twitch & Twitter and I really am thankful for you streaming it.
I saw the highlight of the endless score bug! Great stuff :D
I love your suggestion! I have the right stick free so maybe I could do something with that!
On twitter, I'm @uk_resistant - if you end up doing anymore streams, please do Tag me and I will share!
Thanks again!
I'm glad you enjoy the vibe!
That sounds like a strange bug - may I ask - are you using a controller or mouse/keyboard? Hopefully it is a quick fix my end!
(by the way, if you dig the game, please Wishlist on steam , as it really helps small developers like me!

Appreciate you giving me feedback!
I had fun with this! I think it has a lot of potential and as something that I could player over a series of lunchtimes, I dug it!
I Played around 4/5 sessions!
Some initial feedback:
-I like the weapon variety. Felt weird at first that I could only select one but I enjoy the focused experimentation.
-My fave weapons was the Ring shot and the Shotgun.
-Least favorite, Pistol & Machine gun (Could probably drop one?)
-The noise of the weapons sounds like a drum beat and as I got faster rates of fire it speed up and felt good. Maybe something to consider.
-Maybe tone down the brightness of the grid so Its less noisy for eyes. Maybe make them larger too
-There didnt seem to be much reason to not fire constantly.
Perhaps make it auto-fire, be a toggle or give me a reason to not fire?
-I could do with an aim reticule or a line coming from the player ship denoting where Im aiming.
-Would be great if every weapon looked different.
-make enemy bullets visually different from enemies
-wasnt sure if I was unlocking new weapons or they were random. Would love to see a progression system
(Play Super crate box to see how a small game does this really well!)
Thats probably enough words from me but looking forward to seeing where you take this.
Good luck!

Hi Folks,
I am cancelling this gameboy jam, as the original game jam by Retroshark is back & rather then split the communities I thought it better for their to be one gbjam.
I started unofficial gameboy jam last year because the official jam wasn't happening. I assumed that this would be the case again this year and fortunately I was wrong.
You can find the jam here:

Thanks for all your support and good luck with the jam!
So Making an actual Gameboy game if you dont already know is going to way more difficult then just using something like Unity or game maker. There are less resources in terms of documentation and help and it is much more complicated then modern engines.
Ask yourself what it is you want to achieve in the jam - is it to make a cool game? if so, then do that in the easiest, most empowering way and make something really unique
If it is to learn how to make an actual game boy game then great! But you probably wont be able to do that AND make a good game in all likely hood and you would probably do better taking longer then a jam to learn actual hardware.
I hope this helps!
