A Captivating Journey into the Depths of Self-Reflection

"Me Myself and the Little Hairball" is a visual novel that skillfully intertwines humor and poignant self-discovery, offering players a unique and introspective experience. The game let me to explore the intricacies of depression through the lens of a character who finds solace in the mundane routine of watching 'nutflix' and sleeping, creating a powerful allegory through the transformation of the lovable Wuffeli.

Both gameplay and narrative mirrors masterfully the main characters minor joys and struggles in his repetitive day to day life, making this visual novel hauntingly accurate for those who can relate to it. The transformation of Wuffeli into a manifestation of one's inner angels and demons is simply a stroke of genius and makes you reflect on your own choices quite alot.

While the main story may not offer an extensive narrative, the game compensates with plethora of entertaining choices and an abundance of Finland references and let me say that as a fellow Finn, I couldn't help but to shout "TORILLE!" atleast twice during my playthrough.

The supporting characters in the game are a highlight, with the unexpected roomba plot twist (those who know KNOW) leaving a lasting impression that will linger in my thoughts long after playing. The enigmatic TV's chef adds an extra layer of intrigue, and cannot help but hope for future adventures featuring this character.

"Me, Myself and the Little Hairball" is not just a game; it's an exploration of one's inner struggles, presented with a delightful mix of humor and depth. The game invites players to break free from the monotony of 'nutflix' and explore the vast emotional landscape within. For those willing to delve beyond the surface, this visual novel offers a rewarding and insightful experience that is both amusing and profoundly moving.

Rating: 10/10

I just made a hit game in 5 minutes. Think I'm gonna move from Godot to this one!

Man this is super clever way to make a runner game!

Thank you for the kind words!

Thank you and thanks for playing! I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Yeah some of the highscores are unbelieveable. I wish we had time to implement daily high scores. Think it would have been good addition for a jam game!

NOO MY WALTHER PASSED AWAY AT JUST 2.2 METERS OLD :'(

He's just a bit mischievous! Thank you for the kind words!

Same I'm actually kinda suspicious of the top score since this build has an exploit... Haha....

Yeah I might've made it a bit too hard too fast, cause before the final build it was actually so easy it was boring. Gonna explore on the difficulty later on!

Thanks!  I'm glad you found it fun!

Thank you!

Thank you!

Thanks! Sarzen really did great job on them!

Thank you so much!

Thank you thank you thank you! Actually the cat has sounds for spellcasting but it might be a bit too quiet cause I found it kinda annoying in the long run lol. We're definitively gonna update the font from Godot's default to something more fitting in the future!

Man these mechanics are made for a puzzle game the puzzles are GOOD!

Thank you so much! I'm glad you think so! ^^

Ei viddu :D

Haha I swear those were not by me! :D

I feel bad for the deer. :'(

Poor boy got ghosted... :'(

I thought there wouldn't be that much of a challenge, but I was wrong. Who thought losing could be so tricky!?

Thanks! I'm glad you like it!

Thanks! We are gonna implement some kind of story mode once the rating phase ends so that should introduce some new gameplay elements!

This might be the most clever take on the jam theme! Good thinking!

Haha! I should've made the leaderboard system so that it saves only the highest score for each name!  He is a friend of mine who is very determined to be the #1 Hiirun player in the world.

Ok this is my favorite entry so far, εύγε! Your presentation is god tier. I loved the small details like the use of greek alphabet for the names, α/Ω measuring the time and that wave thingy on the bottom of the screen.

Thanks! I'm really proud of our take on the theme. :) At start we just locked that we wanted to make something that has a cat and a mouse, but had trouble on figuring out how we wanted to reverse their roles.  The mouse being the cats master made everything make sense!

Thank you! I agree Sarzen did amazing job on the art! :)

Thanks for playing! Could you check for me if you have hardware acceleration on or off? Im curious if this is more specific problem or that. It seems like the game lags hard if it's off.

Soundtrack of the year!

Great game, even if it's a bit too hard for me! (Though it is kinda fitting since you are platforming as a boulder... :D) I think there should be atleast one floor without the lava first so the player could practice platforming without getting punished by not having the grasp of the controls.

Thanks! Yeah we had stuff like a bird enemy planned out but were too busy with the spaghetti code and music.. :D

It's very satisfying when the intruders get caught. Would love to see you expand on this after the rating phase!

Yeah we had some other stuff planned out but I ended up prioritizing on the leaderboard and music instead and those took too much of my time haha.

This was a bit hard on a mousepad after the 2500 score mark lol. I gotta try it with a mouse later. Loved the overall quality. Especially the bgm!

Clever puzzles! Though the second and the last puzzles were too clever for me...

Thanks! I really should write a better how to play section. Good luck for the top 10!

Good boy and a good boy!
