Went for this aesthetic since I'm really bad at pixel art xD

Not that I'm that good at 3d art either but hey.

Maybe I'll add a retro skin for the ships. Will be a nice throw back :)

Solar Storm - early access is a 2.5 D space shooter game or non traditional shmup where players must defeat waves of enemies and kill the invading commanders.

Players have an arsenal of weapons at their disposal to do so:

  • Cycle between 3 weapon types
  • Capture enemy weapons and use them as your own
  • Absorb enemy weapons into powerful super beams
  • Use powerful Bombs to wipe out all enemies on screen
  • Phase shift / dodge through enemy bullets / obstacles

Features:

  • Can be played up to 4 players coop
  • Only the first level and the tutorial are accessible in this preview build
  • In Active development - I would love to include player feedback in the dev cycle.

Hello everyone! It's been a while

Quick update on the game.  

I have been hard at work finalizing the foundation for the game so design will be a lot more streamlined.

Updated enemy pathing and multiple spawn points to add more variety to level designs.

Added next Wave button to allow players to send the next waves early for an added challenge.

Added shooting animations to all turrets.

Changed the visuals of enemy spawn portals and added a visual of the players defend target (spaceship)

Added screen shake when you lose a life or trigger an elemental reaction!

Ground where turrets are built changes materials to match the turrets element

Updated UI images so the resolution of buttons ans UI elements

These changes allow for much quicker level design and will greatly reduce the time it takes to build more levels into the game.

I Will be posting screenshots with all these updates shortly.  

Hope you are still looking forward to trying this game out.  I will probably release a demo version to get some initial feedback. Let me know if you are interested!

Hello everyone! Hope you enjoying the holidays

Managed to get the Research tree up and running! Permanent upgrades can now be unlocked for each turret which persist throughout the game.  Currently implemented upgrades include Attack Damage, Fire Rate and Turret Range.  I am looking to make the final research node for each turret an "Ultimate" upgrade which changes the turret completely for a more powerful one.  Let me know what u guys think :)


Second Idea I had was to double premium currency rewards at the end of the level if the player watches the add.  The game will not be designed around this feature however, it will just be a QOL addition.  I don't want it to feel like a grind fest and definitely don't want to make players feel like they have to watch ads to progress.

Reason I'm asking is because I wanted to release the game F2P.

Quick Update:

New features implemented:

  • Player currency - stardust : Currency rewarded as the player progresses through the game
    • Stardust will be the currency required to research upgrades for each turret in the tech tree
  • Upgrades!!!  (UI still needs to be designed :P)
    • Turret upgrades can now be researched from the main menu:
      • Damage,  range and fire rate upgrades implemented so far for each individual turret
      • other upgrades being considered: Projectile speed, turret pivot speed, build and upgrade cost reductions, higher tier upgrades for each turret
      • all upgrades can be purchased with in game currency 
  • New elemental reaction: Disintegrate
    • triggered when combining Ice and Lighting
    • %chance to instantly kill an enemy

Hello everyone, currently working on a 3D Sci-Fi tower defense game Constellation Defenders for PC and Mobile.

I would like to know what has worked for you in terms of playing TD games with ads that weren't too annoying.  I just want to find the perfect way to implement them so it doesn't hinder the overall experience.

So far, I was thinking of releasing the game for free with skippable ads between levels.  There would be an in app purchase to remove the ads if the player feels so inclined.

  • Full Android Support implemented !!!!
  • UI Changes
    • Art Style
    • Upgrades show up in the UI before purchasing
  • 2x speed mode added
  • Added camera panning and zoom functionality to  PC and Mobile

Hello there welcome to my first Devlog! I've been working on this game for a little while now and I'm looking forward to finishing it.  Here is all the info I have on the game so far. I am open to suggestions and feedback and may incorporate some features...if I can code them :) I look forward to sharing my progress with you!

Constellation Defenders

Description:

Constellation Defenders is a free-to-play 3D Sci-Fi tower defense/strategy game where you need to defeat invading forces to save the galaxy. 

Features Implemented:

  • Node based building system
  • Mobile Support
  • Sci-Fi Aesthetic
  • Reaction system: combining the damage from two turrets can cause special combination effects
  • Status Effect System: towers and enemies can be inflicted with status effects
  • Towers can be upgraded to deal more damage, increase range or fire speed
  • Different Enemy Types to defend against
  • Boss Enemies
  • Varying level design
  • Wave system: enemies will spawn in waves
  • 7 different turrets to chose from each with 3 upgrades (more to come)
