All assets are homemade, except for the skybox and some of the shaders. Your praise is highly appreciated, thanks a lot! 😁
We are eager to share more too, we got sooo many other ideas. I really hope we can make a new version soon!
Well I just noted that picking any color in the original image, filling the canvas with it and then submitting in crunch mode, I got higher scores than in indie mode by actually trying. Like, 23000 instead of 8000 or something?
But to be honest it actually added to the fun; at the beginning I did try my best to get close to the original images, but at some point I just drew them badly, and me and my friends had a heckin’ blast doing so!
Also it’s one of the few games I saw that look actually finished; got the menus, game settings, transitions, a bit of lore, even an option for a dyslexia font (though I’m not sure it really helps with the wavy shader).
Thanks for the experience!
Seems that you forgot to provide Godot’s PCK file, or you didn’t check “Embed PCK” in the export options, so the game can’t run. I do love the blocky title screen and it looked like you invested time for polishing things (animation, transition, and music).
It’s sadly too late for this jam, but if you do update your game at some point, I’d be happy to try it!
I’ve been smiling the whole time I was playing it! The game is cute, Snowflake’s movement animation and little “honks” are a delight, seeing Snowball just roll made me laugh, and the seal facts/puns throughout are a nice touch (though I didn’t read fast enough for the longer ones).
I was genuinely sad that the game ended, I would have loved to spend more time with those two but heh that’s game jams for you. It’s already impressive to get this many levels done in this time frame, so nice job! <3
Nice and fun! I was pleasantly surprised to get checkpoints at key moments, that avoided a lot of frustration and kept me playing for a while.
The controls are a bit hard to get used to and that makes the game very technical pretty quickly. It might have been easier to use a controller, but I understand not prioritizing that since the jam required the game to be playable with a keyboard and mouse.
All in all that’s a fun concept and it clicked with me, I had a great time. Congrats for your submission!
Genuinely had a good time playing it! There is a good difficulty curve; I went from “lucky first” to “gosh that’s hard” to “got it now” in a handful of attempts (something we didn’t nail down in our own submission).
It was also a pleasant audio/visual experience that was a nice change of pace for this kind of tower defense game, congrats!
