I installed RPG Maker 2003 Run Time Package and tried again, yet it still shows the same error

Can't get past the third screen as well. Maybe it's a metaphor of some sort?🤔

> Needs RPG maker 2003 RTP to be installed for gamejam build, Is included in download

Where? I only found RPG_RT.exe in the archive and it throws an error on startup

The game started to feel repetitive towards the end - same environment, same mechanics, same enemies, same music. I think the game didn't really need to be that long. Also, at first it wasn't obvious I was supposed to go somewhere - the initial location looked like a closed off game map and I almost quit the game after fiddling with the plant mechanics. Others have mentioned already how awkward it felt to move towards the camera.

On the bright side, I really liked unique and complex, yet intuitive mechanics. The visuals were great too!

Definitely one of my favorite games for this jam! I think it's worth turning into a full game. Really enjoyed the spritework, level design and gameplay.

There are a few (mostly minor) shortcomings:
- The game does not utilize its character changing system to the full potential I think. The levels often felt like "play as a slime, then as a cloud, then as an ice cube". Adding more interaction between the modes would improve the puzzle aspect of the game
- Tileset looks subpar compared to character sprites
- The background would look better with parallax effect
- Character transitions felt a bit too slow

I wish I could give this game a 6 out of 5 for presentation. It felt super polished from the very moment I launched it. The animations, transitions, audio and attention to detail were absolutely top-notch.

The gameplay was pretty good too, though, the upgrades didn't feel too impactful, enemy variety and scaling throughout stages was quite underwhelming. And I have a few issues with weapon balance - it feels like the railgun is the only viable starting option, others deal next to no damage and/or hard to control.
The settings menu didn't save the volume settings for some reason - though they still worked, so it wasn't an issue really

Good job!

Late submissions within 48h were allowed so we decided to just chill during the holidays and finish the game a bit later¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Snappy and fun gameplay. I'd like to highlight a few drawbacks though:

  1. Agressive and passive pixels aren't intuitively obvious
  2. Noticeable difficulty spike at the level with red pixels due - only after a couple of retries I realized that there is an HP bar + the level feels a bit too long and repetetive

There are physical borders a bit off the screen edges, so you probably could easily return (unless you somehow glitched through the borders)

The game is very buggy, cannot move past the starting area. The visuals are impressive though

+1, encountered the glitch too

Great art, but the character feels very wonky to control

The game freezes after completing level 1, is it supposed to be like that?
UPD: wait i actually just had to click the fairies

Great use of theme, but character movement feels really unwieldy, especially when you have to control 2 at once

Play this version of the game https://vivid-turtle.itch.io/feeding-time-fixed if you feel the light radius is too small

Hitting space alone certainly should not restart the game, maybe in web version pressing it somehow trigers a button press. The game has 4 levels, feeding the last cake shows the victory screen.

I agree, I really didn't get lighting intensity and overall geometry right.

The game looks nice but it's currently suffering from a few weird colliders (got stuck several times) and 2-3 sec freezes out of nowhere

Really great music

A great twist on the original gameplay

Really liked gameplay mechanics

Weird, i thought i've fixed that bug when the game completely fails to move the player to latest checkpoint and just leaves him where he died

How do i run it?

How do i run it?

Great game
