Yep, I first tried to find a solution for every number from 0 to 50 using 4 twos, but it was not fun. So I changed the number of twos, played with the buttons available on the calculator, and finally picked the "puzzles" (the numbers) that I found the most interesting. As you see, many of them aren't even integers in the final game. I found it fun to wander on the side of negatives, fractions, powers and square roots too!
Thanks a lot! As you know I enjoyed your entry a lot too! The short music is not due to the size limitation (the game is only 5kb), I just lacked time to do something longer. As a comparison, one of my latest js13k entries contains 165 puzzles and 10 long musics extracted from classical MIDI files, so the size is not a problem if we use the right tools :)
That game is here: https://js13kgames.com/entries/lossst-a-snake-in-space
Yep! It's inspired by old flash games :)
More info about how I did it in the making-of: https://xem.github.io/articles/js13k23.html
Thanks a lot for your test!
I tried including hints in the first puzzles' texts about the time machine, but indeed it may not have been explicit enough.
The flash game I took for inspiration did let the player figure it out even more than my game.
I noted your suggestion for the music and fullscreen mode and will add them after the votes are complete :)
I pressed R while rewinding time and softlocked the game :D
The wall collision are a bit too hard. (it's hard to walk between 2 blocks separated by 1 space without being stopped by one of them)
Otherwise, it's a great game with lovely concept, visuals, sound, music, ambiance, level design, and realization.
Congrats!
