- Power Is Needed is a management game where you have to take care of your resources to supply power to your cities. At first, it may seem a little confusing, but with the right patience, it can become a fun game since managing your resources becomes addictive. It could improve the initial game explanation with some overlay element that briefly explains what it's about.

Nice game! I was a bit confused after finishing the tutorial. I thought it would launch me right into a game but the tutorial itself was more of an interactive cutscene and things moved much slower in the game. During the tutorial a lot of the text was overlapping which made things confusing and kind of stressed me out. I found the game to be really innovative and I like this use of the theme a lot! The music was a banger too! Great work!
This game was really enjoyable to play. The one thing I was confused about was what caused the power to be wasted. Overall, it has a great gameplay loop, great job!
Sorry to be confusing. I forgot to mention that the power lines will cause power wasted because of their resistance. It is related to the total power consumption and the total length of power lines of a power grid.
Very simple but hits all the right notes. I had envisioned something similar but didn’t know where to start. Happy to see someone else made it work!
GREAT GAME!!
Neat little concept. There could be something there.
Tutorial was nice and explained things thoroughly! Enjoyable little city builder game.
The concept ties in with the theme very well. It won't allow me to place a second power station after I connected cities to the first one.
love the simple art style!
I really enjoyed playing this great work
Really catchy background music, I'm totally going to check out AIVA after this. One playthrough I had the yellow box selected but could not place it or click on any other nodes. Fun little resource management game.
This is a very nice chill (at least at the beginning). I really liked the simple art style and the music which fitted the game very well. The tutorial is also very well made. One thing I did not understand was, that you could connect cities together. I do not think it did something besides putting them in the same grid. Maybe you could entirely prevent it. At the beginning the game is very slow and maybe even a bit boring, but then suddenly it gets very hectic (at least the way I played it) and hardly manageable. So maybe you could increase the difficulty / speed at the beginning a bit and lower it later (ramp it up slowly).
Anyway a very well made game and congrats to this nice entry! Had fun playing it.
It's a very nice idea, I think it's a concept that could be built on to create a larger game.
Also, kudos for the tutorial! It makes the game much more approachable.
I did notice that at one point when I was at 100 Happiness the cities just disconnected (became red again) and I couldn't get them back :(.
lovely idea, the game might be a bit unbalanced, but i guess that's quite hard to do.
Do you plan to add more stuff to the game? Like different powerplants or nature disasters?
Good Job
one of my favourites so far. I think you could display the population, grid capacity (in number of people) and current month at all times to let the player see how it's going
Really neat game, will have to come back and try this one again. Great work!
Cool game play at the beginning! And very neat idea for a game.
I got really confused as time went on as to what exactly I should do to avoid losing. I kept building power plants and hooking them up to larger and new cities; maybe I didn't build enough quickly enough but power consumption seems to ramp up great from level 1 to level 2 city and beyond.
Thanks for your feedback. Actually, I find the problem when I'm testing, but I find it hard to balance. It just gets either too boring or too difficult after minutes. Maybe I should add some bonus after one game is over like some roguelike games do to make it worth replaying, and dig into some theories about the difficulty curve as now it only depends on my inaccurate feeling.
And about avoiding losing, there is no way at the present, because it doesn't even have a "win" ending and is designed to end at a point to represent the contradiction between people's increasing demand and limited resources.
Anyway, thanks for your playing, and sorry for your confusion.
Balance and tuning is one of the hardest things to get right in a game, so no apologies needed. I'm just glad I wasn't missing anything while playing!
Really nice game 👍👍👍
Thank you❤️
Neat idea, would love to have access to a bank or something for emergency funds to save myself when things got tough
Thanks for playing! That is a good idea, I should implement in the future.
