Thanks for playing Eldar!

Yeah there's a bug that can occur when the 6 ball attempts to attack after being sunk. We'll address it and the update the post-jam version :)

Thanks man, that means a lot!

Why is it called Quacky Jam?

I like the idea, a bit more variety could be nice.

I hope I'm not overstepping but you might want check out this presentation. It's from a 2013 Dutch game conference and feels like a TED talk on game design. Personally, I consider it to be the holy grail for adding quick polish to games.

Cool game, the grappling mechanic was awesome - It left me wanting more.

A ton of cool grappling hook jumps everywhere might add a lot to the game play.

Really cool game. Aesthetically, it reminded me a bit of Duet.

It took a little while for me to get into it but the action really picked up once the enemies started swarming the screen!

Same as J, I would like to try it out.

If you have troubles re-uploading contact the jam organizer on discord, he may help you submit it late.

Could you send me a direct message on the discord server?

Edit: Or just try this https://www.dropbox.com/s/lopjnn1xicc34lk/GOOM.zip?dl=0 auto download could be breaking it for you.

I just tested it and it's working for me, did you go to the itch.io page?

It's pretty important that people read through the itch page before playing (in order to understand the mechanics) so I opted to not use itch.io's built in download links. Instead, I put the links as download buttons at the bottom of the page.

If they aren't appearing for you you can download the same file here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/lopjnn1xicc34lk/GOOM.zip?dl=1

@Everyone else, I highly recommend reading through the itch.io page first as it explains the game mechanics and not immediately downloading from the above link.

Thanks for playing, I'm glad you liked it!

Oh yeah, about that bug. I'm so confused how this is even possible as (I thought) weapon states and 3d models were stored in the same game object. Glad to hear you found a way around it though :)

Edit: I just realized what you meant by the "Builds shortcut", that's hilarious.

Very fun! Every time I played, I was able do a couple of cool saves (rolling ball on the underside of the platform anyone)

This was great! My best was 172 but I'm 100% going to come back to this later :)

Thanks everyone!

@Rithm Gaming
The power ups (score multipliers) come from enemies that you kill. Sometimes, if you kill enemies off screen as soon as they spawn, the multipliers fall down without an enemy nearby. Your ship's gravity sucks in the multipliers as you move close to them, but if you move too fast they get catapulted away.

I'm not sure about the boss going off-screen - he does follow you but he moves really slowly. I think that it might have been one of the heavy enemies that tries to avoid being hit.

The first boss:

I know this is a simple game but I really enjoyed it! I'm saving the file and adding it to my steam.

Thanks for the kind words, it really means a lot!

Be sure to check out the online leader-board and boss fights too if you have time later.
