The graphics and music are great! Could use some music tracks or variation though. I liked the gameplay but once i realized it's just Carcassonne with secret objective and without farmers I was little disappointed. I was hoping to play something new I guess. I didn't want to play to the end because the AI did so big mistakes i had almost 10 times more score and over half of the tiles remaining.
The music and graphics are good, the characters look adorable. The hex movement, dice rolls for movement and fog were nice but didn't feel like they added much to this game in particular. I couldn't figure out how to do the accusation. The game said i had to use key `]` but such key itself does not exist and using alt modifier key to print that character didn't seem to work either.
The graphics and music seem great. I spent quite a long time trying to figure out what to do but I just couldn't. I managed to grab a knife, make a hamburger and split a pizza. But I have no idea how to serve or move the food. The game is telling me to plate something, but i have no idea how. Sorry...
Great work! I'm loving the ASCII graphics and the good use of colors. The gameplay, theme and writing are also good. I didn't hear any audio, it could definitely have some. The crystal maze was pretty cool, i had to explore it like 3 times and I was just about to give up when I found my way through.
Thanks a lot for trying out Planet Hex and giving feedback!
One of my inspirations on this project was also to get a better understanding how physical planetary phenomena and properties affect each other. It's fascinating indeed!
Yes the simulation happens on the hex plane. Each hex has their own properties. The x boundaries wrap around, however i think at least rivers might have some bugs wrapping around. The y axis does not wrap around at all.
Yeah sphere would obviously be more realistic but eventually I would like to create a 4X strategy game and I think simulating things on a sphere might be overkill and too big scope for me right now.
