Yeah our character animator knocked that one out of the park!

It’s a game jam, Embrace the Jank! (or we ran out of time and didn’t get all the bugs.)

Yeah, getting it all to work was hard but I’m glad the mechanics shone through. Glad you enjoyed it!

Yeah sorry about the bugs. I like the idea of an icon though!

I like the joke and I like the execution, clicking through items is fun! The time felt a bit too short and items moved too quickly, but that could also be practice. The job application theming was a nice touch.

I like how much you get from the visuals despite not a lot of high res sprites. I agree with other commentors though, by 3:30 the screen was full of enemies and I had no real chance to recover. I like how snappy the upgrade screen was.

Ah sorry to hear that. The big thing is moving the light up and down to be sure whether the player or shadow is on the ground. But it is a trick.

This is super cool. I was hoping to use it for a summer camp style event as an introduction to game making. However I was hoping there would be a way to export the settings that I create in the platformer toolkit for use with the accompanying Unity asset. Is this something that is currently possible or could be added? It's still really informative for how to make a good controlling platformer.

Thanks!

I tried the other download and it's a cool idea, I like the hidden informatino aspect. Though I'd have preferred a dig button to really feel like I'm influencing the game.

Unfortunately they're right, wish I could have given it a try. Sorry.

I like the idea and there definitely feels like more that can be done with it, but I don't think the prompts I was given to choose from for the King properly explained what he would be saying before the Jester interjected.

That's a fun core loop I was enjoying the puzzle! And the drone was funny!

The visuals are cool I liked the panting animation!

You can change the thumbnail post publishing. Just can't update the game.

Glad you liked it!

I think you also hit a bug where the next level isn't available. Sorry about that.

Ah, yeah this is a mistake on my part. When you get to the game logo screen, press enter to continue.

Ok, a Zip download has been added. By loading screen do you mean "Loading Unity" or the splash screen with our logo? Once you get to the splash screen press enter to start the game.

It is desktop only, try clearing your cache and cookies. I'll add a Windows zip file too.

Some people have found they can identify where they have been by whether or not the traps activate.

Still, glad you liked it!

I'm glad you enjoyed it overall. Unfortunately the crystals themselves don't join together but the colours do. As you collect crystals colours become more and more vibrant which is the central mechanic of the game. And yeah, hitboxes are hard! I'm glad you liked it overall though!

Thanks for playing!

I thought about that but I didn't make the player controller easily modifiable to disable parts of controls like that.

Thanks! We had a pair of talanted artists drawing and animating the whole time and it really paid off.

Thanks for playing!

The artist team lowkey carried. The movement bothered me the entire time and it was furstrating not knowing how to fix it.

I liked it but I always felt helpless because by the time you see an object approaching you there isn't enough time to get the direction to change and then move out of the way.

Really cool concept and well designed gameplay. I enjoyed it.

I forgot to tune the browser edition. If you're on Windows though try the downloaded version (link at the bottom of the page) and it might work better. The game was desigend for a 16:9 screen and other settings won't work as well.

I appreciate the insight! I tried your game and the presentation is cool. It's authentic WindowsXP.

I'm intreagued as to why you say that. It was a deliberate choice to split run and walk so that if you ran out of one you could have the other in reserve so I'm curious why you'd suggest making them the same.

Still, glad you enjoyed it and thanks for playing!

As the one who programmed the grappling hook, it was the bane of my existance for a while. It never quite felt right.

Thanks for playing though, I hope you liked it!

I tried your game, it's cool but I wish I could try it with a controller (which I don't have right now).

Still a solid game.

(1 edit)

This is for a game jam so we made everything in a 48 hour timespan. The theme likely won't end up on spottify but maybe a youtube video later on. I'm glad you liked it. Thanks for playing.

See the gif for an example of how I did it.

Still a cool idea though.

No, that's just a bug in the physics engine. Shoot the bottom of the overhead bar instead and swing accross the pit.

Neat idea but I find it really hard to shoot right. Probably I'm just not very good at it.

It's fun and I like the low res 3d asthetics. I'm just not good at it.

Hi, the way to get accross is to use the grappling hook multiple times in a row.  As soon as the hook disappears you can click to use it again, keep doing this accross the pit and it will work. And yeah the music isn't long, but it's a game jam. That was just the reality of time.

Thanks for playing!
