I want a German translation, and the instructions for the poorly translated patch gave me such an easy start that I’ve taken things into my own hand.

I uploaded the csv into Google Sheets for easy realtime collaboration, in case anyone wants to help. Trying it out is really easy, just download as Comma Separated Values (.csv), save it inside the DATA directory of the game and name it LANG_Deutsch.yarn_lines.csv — now you can select deutsch in the options!

Please note that the menu options are part of the translations, too. As those are not yet translated and thus empty, you’ll have to navigate around blindly for now, so take a good look at the menu first. All empty dialog seems to be skipped.

My main reason to open this for collaboration and to take this into my own hands right now is that I’m not at all sure how much I’ll actually translate by next week or next month. So I want to use the little motivation I have to do a bit and make sure any progress is kept for others to do the next little part.

I just found https://adamgryu.itch.io/a-short-hike-poorly-machine-translated-mod — Maybe we can work from there to prepare an inofficial translation patch that might then just be adopted whenever the dev feels like it? Hi! I just saw the screenshot and recognized that you used the Debian logo as a starting point for your own. The modification seems to be just the text over it, so it is still pretty obviously the Debian project logo. While I looked it up, this so called "Open Use Logo" version is released under both the GPL 3 (or later) or CC BY-SA 3.0. This means you are indeed free to use, modify and redistribute this logo without restrictions, even commercially, but I decided to write you anyway, because you might not be aware of the Debian project and wish not to affiliate yourself with it. I for example got curious what Debian had to do with a Covid app.
