Two awkward girls play strip poker. · By
So while I'm not familiar with the source material, it IS strip poker and I was willing to give this a try...
And I have to say, I'm impressed! The mirror was a nice way to show the 'player' without having to do third person or something. There's some nice dialogue between the two girls, and the game works far as I can tell. I only gave it one try so far, so not sure if there's a variety of dialogue depending on the state of dress/undress for both. The artstyle was pretty appealing as well, even if I'm not the biggest anthro fan, but the girls had a nice design. Not used to the only option in a strip game being two girls either, but it was still fun!
Any chance this game will get updated to have more opponent variety or even player variety? I'm not familiar with the source material, so it might be a setting with only girls. Nothing wrong with that, but curious if we might see a male player.
Maybe a silly question, but: does anyone know a good guide to the rules of poker? I kind of know them, but I just had what I thought was a good hand, and I wound up losing to a hand that I didn't see anything in, and now I'm not sure whether it was a bug or whether I just don't know how this kind of poker works...
While they're notably playing a variant, this seems to be a fairly decent guide to the rules based on a cursory glance: https://www.pokernews.com/strategy/5-card-draw-rules-how-to-play-five-card-draw-...
And I used this as reference while I was initially programming the solver: https://www.cardplayer.com/rules-of-poker/hand-rankings
It's a distinct possibility that there's something not quite right going on with how the hand evaluator is deciding on hand quality, and I'm hoping to thoroughly investigate that when I start rewriting the code for the content patch in early December.
I really loved this game! It's so wholesome and lovely! I really hope you keep at it. If by any chance if you ever need any coding help please feel free to reach out to me. I mostly work in Unity. So I'm sure I can help. (If you want feel free to use my Twitter to reach me, not sure how great itch is for contacts. https://twitter.com/Blindwolfgamez)
