[Crowd-sourced Localization] Seeking community localization for Ho-Ho-Home Invasion

We launched our festive stealth Santa micro-game this week, Ho-Ho-Home Invasion!

Ho-Ho-Home Invasion is a free festive stealth micro-game, made in three weeks, that we definitely didn't consider calling "Santa Game Solid". Help Santa enter houses, deliver presents, and leave - all without being seen or detected by the automated robots his elves have made to help him train.

We've now set up crowd-sourced localization options on Localizor and CrowdIn for those who want to contribute translations in the following languages:

  • Chinese Simplified
  • Chinese Traditional
  • Japanese
  • Korean
  • Russian
  • Dutch
  • French
  • German
  • Italian
  • Portuguese
  • Portuguese, Brazilian
  • Spanish

We're using Localizor as it is a platform specifically built for indie games:

We're currently adding an in-game option to change language, and that update will be pushed once we have a few more translations. Thanks!

I could just offer assisting translations from english to german paragraphs in that case, while preferring testing games on browser than downloads. Also I generally like indie-based games and being open for suggestions if e.g. the translated parts should sound rather easy in understanding or bit unique in words, etc. btw: I'm open for collaborating for free and personally also being open for translating sequels of your game, next to every bits of "ho-ho-home invasion" which sounds like a cool title for upcoming xmas.

Hey thanks so much, that's really helpful. If you contributed on Localizor, be sure to send me your LinkedIn profile or portfolio link so I can add it to the credits/our website :)

I agree! Native speakers know better than I do what works in their own language - for example, we have an achievement called 'Santa Klutz' ('Klutz' being clumsy and a pun on 'Santa Claus') but where that obviously doesn't translate very well, people have used their own cultural references instead and I think that's super cool :)

I don't use LinkedIn, while references and puns on characters/abilities sound cool (like that mall-security movie that a common actor as main-role and his name bit referring to his body-type too, I guess).

While I think that adding possible puns should be discussed with the origin designer of the game, same if a graphic-animator trying to add colours or shapes and the uploader not even noticing that similarity because he/she didn't know the origin scene e.g. as movie/trailer/game/etc.

I found the game really entertaining! I'll give a hand with the Spanish translation^^

Thank you! <3 Be sure to send me your LinkedIn profile or portfolio link so I can add it to the credits/our website.
