Possibly putting the most popular mods together for people not educated in modding.

I am not sure if it is possible to put the most popular mods together in one download. Kind of like the oblivion super pack for oblivion. A game pre modded.

I know not all modders were  for that with oblivion  but I do not know how the strive for power community would feel about this idea. I am just throwing out the idea to see the response to it.

I'd like to see that.  That's a cool idea!

Someone tried to do this before, but never finished it as far as I know. It's a lot  more work and a lot harder to do than it seems.

First, Aric's and Ralph's mods use Strive v0.5.25 whereas Leo's and Chastity Belt mods use Strive v1.0d. The version differences would be troublesome to overcome as many things were significantly changed.

Second, the mod system has multiple ways to mod files and each mod uses it's own approach to altering the game files.

Third, many of the mods make conflicting changes to the game's mechanics, so a great deal of conflict resolution and debugging would be needed.

I know its extremely a lot of work just curious about people thought about the concept.

One problem is a matter of who maintains it. I can put together my mod, expanded sex, randomportraits, 1.0d bugifx, and the new female main character mod. If a fault turns up who's going to bugfix it, test it, and reissue it? Personally I've little idea how the sex scenes work. Nobody wants responsibility for someone else's code.

Compared to Skyrim, which has a intensely complex mod system, Strive isn't so bad at all. If you can get one mod to run you should be able to get four or more to run at the same time. Ankmairdor put a lot of work on the mod system over the last two years and it is a lot better than it was. The main problems seem to be
- not using a clean installation for the base game
- initial installation and applying the first mod both using the right versions
- upgrading versions and then running into those problems again
- finding and installing portrait packs

Its gonna be a LOT of work, especially with some old mods that require ancient game versions.

First of ideas is to refuse to use mod system and modify original core files. Its much simpler bc u need less comparing and code looking, updates can be easy, come with lot of changes. If they change same string, it can be managed through checking for additional conditions. Adding new strings is no problem. This is my preffered way.

Second, is create sequential list of mods, which need to be activated in strict order, no new from outside can't be added without lot of work. They can be updated separately, but require more time and effort. If they change same string, it can be managed through checking for additional conditions. Adding new strings can be problem, bc mod system insert new string after appointed number of strings in function, which can be changed by adding new string from previous mod and possibly making new string placing wrong, which lead that all mods that use mod system, and placed after afforementioned mod, need to be changed in the spirit of additions.

Btw, there is come another questions: Do we really need all existing mods in one game? Isn't it not only breaking ballance, but also add content, unpleasant for some peoples, or totally useless?

Its a good idea to gather in one place all goods, but as ppls say before it need, lot of hard work, free time, and willing testers. Also, list of mods need to be discused and found a place for uploading changes(like github).

well, I was checking and I wondered, will anyone be motivated by this idea?, it is a fact that there are many obstacles with this idea, so right now I will limit myself to thank those who took the trouble to make their work compatible to give consistency to this game.

I thought about it through the years since i always wanted to play aric's and leo's expansion at the same time. I think I'll do something about it.
