Quest Involving Cali

I could be getting this wrong, but I believe I had Cali ages ago. I had her in my team, and she happened to die before I could get her back to my mansion. In my quest log, I now have a quest called "Talk to Cali". Am I thinking of the wrong Cali, or am I just not able to complete that quest anymore? The one that I think was named Cali in my team a long time ago had a grey half-kin cat picture by default. Also, even if she isn't Cali like that quest is referring to, and I able to get her back? I remember being pretty bummed that I managed to lose one of the characters with a default portrait tbh lol

She's gone. The quest log does not know it. There's a permadeath option that you can turn off from main menu/options.

Oh, I DO have permadeath disabled, but how would I get her back?

Permadeath deletes the character, so any save after her death cannot recover the Cali you had. Your options for getting her are loading a previous save or autosave, starting a new progress, or editing the save file to reset her sidequest back to zero.
Edit: misread comment as saying "I DO have permadeath", see Leo's comment for a better answer

With permadeath disabled your slaves are away from the mansion for a few days (resting ) after a combat defeat instead of being deleted.

Oh, maybe it was enabled at the time? I'm not sure, but would resetting the quest progress back to 0 bring her back like what was previously suggested?
