1: I don't know, all i know is that they made a very large mappack, and a discontinued modpack, with 2011-2017 clients added. (2016-2017 are studio clients.)

IMPORTANT NOTE: 2012 and some of 2011 may not load. 2013 is missing some GUI, but has animations. 2014 and newer are missing the animations, but have GUI.
