the itch page says the game is a gay romance right? is asterion the only character you can date or is it possible to date other guys like storm or themba?

I've gotten to a part where I can potentially make a move on asterion but I wanna know if he is the only option before going forward.

Asterion is the only option for the Main Character, but you'll be able to pair guests and see their relationship develop.

I see, thats somewhat disappointing since I was hoping to woo storm, the sweetheart that he is but I'll what I can get

technically you do? you have this whole section where you can match P and Storm, i know P isn't a self insert but still is a temporary protagonist

I suppose that is true, just not a fan of avian anatomy, heres hoping I can pair storm with someone else and watch it unfold

so does this mean..... no themba x mc ship. That would be really noice to see. He is just a so  馃槫馃槫馃槫

I am a little sad that there is no route for Argos, he turns out to be such a good boy that I can't help but be drawn to him. I 'd even settle for a short route like " I know what you feel and i feel the same too, but this... us... I'm afraid it was never meant to be, but for tonight... if only for this one night... let us throw caution to the wind and enjoy this small reprieve from the meddling of the divines." before the game shifts back into the main routes, occasionally referencing back to what could have been, perhaps sidelong glances or a lingering touch, a quick peck on the cheek before parting ways once more, both in a sad understanding of what they cannot have. This would also give Argos a new level of appreciation for helping MC to love Asterion, only wanting to see MC happy above all else.

A poly relationship likely isn't in the cards, there's only been one thing I could point to that compared to the boundless other examples against it, but that's the only way I see a romance working. Not just because Asterion needs trust, so a scene like what you're describing would be devastating, but also because Argos genuinely wants those two to be together. I do see something between the three (depending on some hyper-specific choices to see what I mean), which is close to what I'd consider an ideal relationship where it's 3 people with equal feelings, but at the end of the day this is a story about breaking cycles and I think it runs too close to repeating Laomedon's split interests if any other love interests, poly or otherwise, are added.

(I would obviously be happy to be wrong, though! I just think it's harder for a story as seeped in symbolism as this to pull off in a way where the significance isn't muddled.)

I don't know if i'm alone on this, but for this novel specifically, we keep bouncing from a POV to another. There's no need to do player x whoever when we can just experience guest 5 POV x guest 3. The MC, being a self insert, isn't allowed to have much of a personality anyway.

so true^^,  its really cool we can appreciate the side characters POV rather than the MC itself. imagine when we shift back to asterions POV, we appreciate more of his burdens before going back to MC that tries to debate on them with different values of the mdoern day agenda.

oh and one good sample is Nikos perspective if you did the ruthless route

That's pretty much what we thought of, actually. Changing the POV is not the same as writing a whole route for them, but the idea is letting people experience something like it in a way that fits the story. Kind of like what we created between Oscar and Pedro, where you can basically enjoy the story of getting closer with Oscar as long as you can place yourself in Pedro's shoes.

I really like that and thinks that's awesome rather than making it a complicated and messy, especially after Asterion already been through so much
