Profile Image upload error message does not make sense

When uploading a 3000 x 3000 pixel image, the error message in the image below occurs. The "maximum dimensions" should be square, because if you would try to upload a 3840x2160 image, that shouldn't work (as specified in the braces).

Nothing major, but might be irritating to some!

The image you provided is larger than our maximum allowable dimensions and the error message communicates that from what I can see. The maximum allowable dimensions are global across our site, independent of a particular image’s requested aspect ratio. If you upload something that doesn’t match the requested aspect ratio then it will be cropped accordingly.

If you crop it anyway, why put the (square dimensions) even there in the first place? A note about cropping would be good then.

Another option would be to scale an image down to the closest acceptable size, that way everything would work.
