Hi.

I have the official linux app installed on my Fedora Linux. It was working so far, but for some reason I don't know (I can't relate this behaviour with any event in particular), it's closing when I'm trying to launch it. I tried to reinstall it but nothing changes. I also tried to launch it via the terminal but it does not seems to return any error :

Any ideas ? Is there any activity log somewhere that can give me some clue about what is going on ?

Thanks in advance.

I tried to launch the application from ~/.itch/app-25.5.1/ directory and I've been able to see some hint.

[31340:1115/102454.996067:FATAL:gpu_data_manager_impl_private.cc(442)] GPU process isn't usable. Goodbye.

When I looked for the last part "GPU process isn't usable. Goodbye.", I've found I have to launch itch with the option --no-sandbox to make it run correctly. It seems to work, but if I try to launch it without that option, it still doesn't work.

It's some great workaround but still it seems wrong to me. What can i do to fix it ?

Ditto. I also can confirm that running with --no-sandbox makes it work. Otherwise I get the exact error reported by the OP.

I am using X11 not Wayland, and I am using the proprietary nvidia driver. Just in case any of this matters.

I have the same error and the same fix worked for me. I'm using Fedora Linux 35. KDE Plasma version: 5.23.4. X11. Kernel version: 5.15.12-200. NVIDIA driver version: 495.46

I'm having this issue on fedora. Running Gnome with NVidia driver version 495.46. Kernel version 5.15.16-200

Running with the "--no-sandbox" option makes it work. Seem like it might be an issue with upstream electron. It's referenced in the openSUSE mailing list here

Same issue, "--no-sandbox" works for now. Running EndeavourOS (Arch Linux based) so this isn't limited to Fedora. Kernel 5.16.9, KDE Plasma 5.24.0, X11, NVIDIA Driver 510.47.03

same error.
Ubuntu 22.04

kernel: 5.15
X11
proprietory NVIDIA Drivers

fixed by no sandbox flag while executing
