Strange asset swap(?) when selecting...?

https://i.imgur.com/enBV94i.mp4 Sorry for the potato quality but I think it's still easy to see what happened.

Multiple logs since I can reproduce this fairly easily.

The first time I did this, the other day, it happened while I was trying to add these assets to the animation timeline. This time I was able to trigger it just by clicking off-program and clicking back on.

I'm on W10, some sot of i7 cpu, and an Nvidia 1060.

Hi, wow strange, I already fixed a similar bug it was because the asset resync to their path when focus in and when asset was changed it didn't sync to the right path but seems it's another issue. I will investigate and fix for next update.

Nice graphic style by the way. Also I link a little tutorial about bones animation : https://pixelover.io/docs/tutorials/bones_animation/ and if your different images have same origin you can create animated image from them (by just opening for example all the arms variants in same time) but don't hesitate to ask if you think about an improvement which could help you.

Edit: ok I understood, it's when multi select and focus in. Sorry about that, I will fix and send you pre-release with the fix.

To prevent this, you can disable this auto sync in main settings :

It's now fixed, let me know if you need earlier the fixed version but with the work around I gave you, you will not have the issue.

Thank you to have reported this issue.

Fixed with 0.8.3

I'm actually having the same issue, lol. Your temporary fix did solve it, but it was doing it where if you click out of it and back in, whatever is selected switches to a random asset. From what I could tell, exactly as the OP's clip did. I'm not sure what you need, but I'll gladly fetch it. Amazing program and quickly learning everything I can for it. Without this, I wouldn't even bother with animations, so it means a lot.

I'm running 0.8.3, first one I installed as I just purchased it yesterday. I'm on windows 10, ryzen 3600/nvidia 1660 super for cpu/gpu. I'm not too stressed about it, as the fix did correct it. But I came looking for help cause of it, so I'm guessing some others will too.

That's really strange. The issue was, when you select multiple images focus out the software then focus in it applies the last selected image to all, it's well exactly this action ? On my side it's fixed for this case but I'll investigate more, I need to reproduce the wrong behavior.

It wasn't happening at first, but after setting up the bones with the images n such, it started doing two things.

First is what was described by OP, if I had any image selected in the list and I click out and back in, it would randomly pick a new asset. Even with the setting of using file path only, or whatever it was listed as the other option. The only thing that stopped it was disabling it entirely. When reading his, I tried selecting multiple like in the example and it did the same thing.

The other thing, I noticed after making my post. It seems it'll sometimes paste what I have copied if I have an image in my clipboard, onto whatever is selected. Which will sometimes cause the whole thing to displace itself. In this example, it swapped the asset and also yeeted it off into the corner, there's no visual art where the bones are now.

Can't get it to redo the thing where it would paste whatever is copied to my clipboard, it happened like 2 times while trying to mess with it
But all of these issues completely stop happening the moment it's turned off. All my struggles turn into user error after it's turned off lol

Oh yeah, it also shows the correct file name when checking the asset in the data view section thing. Even though it's the wrong image shown. I can re-select the same filename and it'll reload it to the correct one.

would sharing the file help at all?

Thank you for the details, we are agree it is happening when you have multiple objects selected like that ?

But there is certainly a specific case I missed because I can't reproduce, you do exactly the same action ? I'll try with the clipboard.
