I have been wanting to get this game for a long time. Today I decided to get V2 now. My computer doesn't meet the required specs but I still thought there would be settings to turn the graphics down. When I am in the game I constantly hear walking even when I am still, I cant jump or sometimes can only jump a tiny bit but still not enough to even clear the fence at the beginning! Please help, is there some way to fix this or turn down my settings, because I can't access them at the beginning of the game.
This is a known bug. Sorry you had to experience it! Essentially there are parts of the character physics that are tied to frame rate (and somehow in an attempt to avoid this, I may have made it worse). I would not encourage anyone to play the game if they do not meet the requirements, even despite the physics issues. You are welcome to request a refund. I will be working towards fixing this but it won't be fixed during the beta sadly.
Thank you for the information. I don't need a refund, I am saving for a better graphics card though so sometime in the future I will be able to properly play, thank you for the offer though. Anemoiapolis is the perfect game I wanted to play almost as soon as I discovered liminal spaces. I especially love the water level / liminal space pictures you put up on twitter. I can't wait to see what the final version has to offer!
There was that moment where I wanted to open the door to the lazy river, right at the end of the first area, but I was too close to the door, so I got crushed into the void. No loading screen, no visuals, but I could still hear the sounds of running water and such. Can't remember if I was hearing my footsteps, so I can't confirm if I was still able to move or not.
...just realized how much this kinda sounds like someone no-clipping into the Backrooms, huh.
I also had the “always running, can’t jump” problem, and my computer is pretty much the kind you’d buy your grandma, so I figured it was up to the graphics card not being good enough. It’s also an all-in-one, so I can’t switch the card out. My roommate has a gaming computer, so he offered to let me try it on his setup and play while he’s at work, since I’ve been really, really eager to play it.
However, when we ran it on his computer, I didn’t have the running and jumping problems, but when I first began the game, the sky showed up as being almost solid dark and shady, and it ran really choppy. (Granted, the latter could be because the computer is 11 years old, so maybe that’s the computer causing the choppiness, but I’m not sure). I got as far as the first room/pool (the one you fall in) before it just started getting too choppy to continue, although the graphics problems seemed to dissipate at that point.
I want to start this out by saying I really love this game! I've been following the development since about June-ish 2021 and am so excited for the full game. Really appreciate the work so far. I found a bug, but was unable to screenshot it. It was in the initial pool room when you hit the crank on the diving board and it appeared to be a big black pixelated blob? It grew across my screen, but went away once I went into the main menu and back into the game. I found this clip on Reddit which shows pretty much what happened to me. Not from the same game obviously but same glitch. Hope this helps!
I love this game - at least from the visuals I've seen on youtube. Because my Laptop doesn't get it: the sky us black, framerate very slow, and I have this "no-jump" issue. I wonder if once there will be a possibility to decrease resolution in options because I adore this experience to roam around in liminal spaces...
first of all, i loved all of the game thus far. but about bugs: i played with a GeForce GTX 650 TI (1GB) so way below the requirements, and although i had the tiny jump bug on my first time and i couldn't pass the barrier on the swimming board, after restarting the game i could. so apparently it might just go away enough to make the game playable, if you have otherwise good specs (i have 16GB RAM and an AMD 4GHz CPU). it did freeze one time in the first room when pressing a Q prompt, but other than those i didn't have any trouble and i played through the whole game in one sitting.
i also played on a 15" CRT TV, which made it super atmospheric :D looking forward to see the finished game! <3
I really wanted to play this game and purchased the Beta demo but I'm also having the jumping issue and walking sound, tried everything to cross the fence but can't and it's frustrating. It's unlikely I can be able to get a new machine any time soon to play this properly, which is sad :( I would also just like to ask for a refund, and wait until the official fixed and finished version is released and a proper machine to play it on. I still love the concept. Thanks.
