The game is currently unplayable on the Windows Mixed Reality platform.  in the last couple of versions, my controllers are completely broken in the game. They work in other games. Is there a workaround or a plan to fix this? I haven't been able to play the game for over a year now. 

WOW! 90 days and no commend from the developer. I'm going to take that as there is no intention of fixing the game for the people that paid for it. Dev's do stuff like that and wonder why they "can't make it' in the gaming industry. It's a pity. I liked the game, when it worked. But it looks like a paid for nothing but broken code. 

Apologies, I was severely injured a few months ago and your comment fell to the wayside during my recovery. We've been focusing on getting full functionality on the vive, index, and rift. I'll have my coders look into making sure we're functional if it's viable. There's still desktop mode though! If this is unsatisfactory we can issue a refund to you.

I have a similar issue while using my Oculus Quest 2 in PC Link mode. The game runs fine and I can see and move my controllers, but none of the buttons seem to respond, so I can't actually start the game. (Enjoying the PC mode, but I'd have loved to try the game in VR.)

It is difficult to identify the cause of the issue, as it is often related to the hardware and software used.

General issues we encounter with VR are when SteamVR is not properly configured. You can try to see if everything is properly configured on this application before trying to play. I'll look at the SteamVR  configuration. But my other SteamVR games work. So I suspect it's not the problem. 

It worked with Microsoft Mixer Reality for quite sometime. Then about a year ago the controls became hopelessly broken rendering the game unplayable. Pity, I like the game so much I bought it twice, once here and again on Steam when it was moved over there. 

The settings seem to be fine. Everything works in other Steam VR games. The controllers stopped working in the game with an update awhile back and have never worked since.
