System error when trying to open a game? Please Help!

I recently bought the bundle for Ukraine and was really excited to play Cloud Gardens, downloaded the correct zip, extracted all the files and what have you, but when I tried running it, I got a system error that read as follows:

The code execution cannot proceed because UnityPlayer.dll was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix this problem.

So, what does this mean exactly? How can I remedy it? It says UnityPlayer.dll is in the folder so I'm just not sure, I don't know much about these things. I also tried uninstalling and reinstalling the entire ZIP to no avail. Any advice is welcome, thanks.

You should probably ask the game's creator first.

Similar problem here on mac

Havent find the way to reach the studio, itch.io send me to a support page with no information what so ever to reach them or get any information ...

I get this popup when trying to open it :

Note that the error your are having is completely different as you are on a Mac. The developer has not signed the executable, so you either need to change your system settings to bypass code signature checking or you need to run the game through our app: https://itch.io/app

Hi! Thanks for getting in touch.

There’s two options for fixing that. You can either

- Play using the Itch App at http://itch.io/app

Or

- Follow these steps: https://support.gog.com/hc/en-us/articles/213041685-Game-is-damaged-and-can-t-be... (they apply the same)

I have also uploaded an updated version of the game (1.1.1) that I re-code-signed, but something has been going wrong with that process (not sure if it's my fault or Unity)

If you open and browse the .zip file directly, do you see another .exe besides UnityCrashHandler64.exe?  If so, that executable is the one that will launch the game.  If you see it in the .zip but not in your extracted folder, your antivirus might be deleting it when you try to run it.

If there's no other executable in the .zip, ask the developer.  There might be an issue with the build.

To the person who created the topic: You tried to run the game from within the ZIP file. This will not work as not all of the game’s filed will be extracted. You need to extract the game first before trying to run it.

If you don’t know how to run software downloaded off the internet then we recommend using our app: https://itch.io/app

Also, in order to stay in compliance with the rules on our board, please use descriptive titles and avoid unnecessary phrases like “Please help”.

Hope that helps
