Anyone having success running this game on Wine?

Quack,

Got this game in the pack for Ukraine and it looks interesting. That’s also nice to contribute to this cause.

I’m using GNU/Linux and tried to run this game with Wine 7.3, with or without DXVK 1.10, to no avail. Was anyone able to make this work?

I'm using windows 11 and I can get to the opening splash screen and then it just closes out. I also got it in the Ukraine bundle.

StarPrincess, unfortunately I don't have Windows 11 and can't test this. I'll check around to see if anyone else has problems running the game on Windows 11, but I had a couple questions for you to help me troubleshoot:

  1. Did you try the 32-bit or 64-bit version of the game? (It's possible the 64-bit version is more likely to work.)
  2. Can you try right-clicking on LostArt.exe and in the pop-up menu that appears, is there a way to run it in compatibility mode for Windows 10?

Sorry to hear that it doesn't work in Wine, Duck. Unfortunately, I don't have a Linux machine and I'm not able to test this or tell you how to fix this; hopefully if someone else ever gets it running with Wine they'll let us know how!

Thanks SeaPhoenix for your kind reply. That is what I was hoping for.

For the record I just tried with 7.5 and staging to no avail.

Hi Duck, usually all RPGM titles work pretty fine on wine, maybe you need to tweak the configuration a bit. Using Lutris helps a lot, if you need different version of wine (& winetricks).

If the regular wine doesn’t hit the nail, try out installing proton too.

I’m currently playing some titles (like this one) with Lutris + proton6.3, others with wine 7.2

I have it running in Wineskin6 under MacOS10.15, which is 64 bit. I'm seeing a wine32on64 applet in the resources folder, along with the expected wine64 but given Catalina's crankiness, I strongly suspect that it's running in 64 bit mode. I can try running it in a linux VM if you like, just let me know which *nix you'd like to see tested.  :)

Quack,

I totally forgot about this thread but to avoid leaving obsolete information I’ll do a short update.

I think I was able to run it around the switch to Wine 8 but forgot to update the thread. Now with 8.12 and without any tweak it works like a charm.

Thanks for all the efforts put into the game :-).
