if i play through the start it wont allow me to explore, if i do the skip that takes me to the challice i can explore but after i knock out merrill it wont let me select her, am i just missing something?
You're not playing the latest version or you haven't started a new a save, do either and your issue should be resolved.
The latest version is 0.067
Edit: okay on re reading again you must be playing the latest version...
Try deleting everything in the IslanDeity save folder.

Sorry man, I'm really unsure why this is occurring.
I could give a save file after the plane to maybe to counteract this issue but as far anyone else. You're only person who has noted a bug like this.
The text file of, "I should build somewhere to sleep" shouldn't even exist anymore...
