Nūr

In her sketches, she creates a new, different world in which she encounters a variety of friendly and not-so-friendly creatures.

My name is Hala (AKA CatCaveWithin).  Currently working on my 2nd Game; Nūr which is a 2D Action Adventure Game that takes a place in a sketchbook of a 5-year-old girl, who uses her artistical skills to find her way to the Golden Scarf.

I started a couple of months ago.  I made the prototype using squares and rectangles but I was having trouble picking an artstyle or a theme because I wanted something a bit different.

I've always found children's drawings and sketches to be very interesting.  Therefore, I chose a childish art style to be the theme in this game.

I will be updating this post very often; stay tuned!

P.S.: I released my first game (CABOUS) in 2021.  It's on ITCH.IO, you might wanna take a look. 😊

SEOCND ANIMATION

I haven't posted in a long time.

I've been having trouble recently with my laptop as it cannot handle any game development programs (Unity and Photoshop).  Therefore, I've been sketching on paper my game levels until I gather the money to but a better laptop or PC.

I will be sharing some sketches soon.

Hey everyone,

Well, right now, I'm working on my second game, Nūr, a 2D Action Adventure Game.

She is a young, courageous girl who embarks on a fantasy journey during her leukemia treatment. Inspired by the creativity and imagination of children’s drawings.

I'm not sure what weapon I'll give her on her trip to combat enemies!

I had so many ideas, such as arrows and bows, a wound for hack and slash, or a water gun.

I really need help here, and I'm open to any suggestions!

Please feel free to be inspired by her sweetness in the picture below.

Thanks

Hala

Ah, I really liked the gameplay video. Such a cute and relaxing art style. Since this style is very "drawn", what do you think about using things used for drawing by children in your weapons and mechanics? Pencils, eraser, different colors, etc. This game looks like something a child can draw by creating a whole world in his sketchbook and watching the adventures of a fictional character. When I was a child, I loved to animate inanimate things, and I also loved to draw, but I didn’t combine these 2 classes until I was 13, so I really like your concepts, filled with childish immediacy. Good luck with the development of this project, I will look here from time to time

Sorry fore taking a long time to reply to you.

I'm part-time game dev with a full-time job that is taking my whole day.

Thank you for the encouraging words.  I guess I have to consider you ideas because they really match so much of my actual idea.

But I published a temporary Steam page to gather wishlists.  Please feel free to check it out Nūr on Steam (steampowered.com).

I will also update this blog.
