Whenever I bring NPCs to a fight I typically have them stand in a corner and I just bring enemies to them. Otherwise 1 of 3 things happens.
1-They get completely surrounded and figuratively (sometimes literally!) gang raped
2-They hit me with a ranged attack (Cecily or Slayer with their daggers) and I get KO'd
3-I hit THEM accidentally because they ran right n front of my attack, and then I spend the next minute running away from my now angry companion who literally jumped in front of my saber swing as I was trying to kill a gobbo
so you just sit in a rape loop for months until you are lvl90 and can actually begin playing the actual game and call that being good at the game.
Sure you can use companions as meat shields and to grind the easy missions at the beginning but I don't like doing the same mission for a year to get enough levels to do anything, besides at that point the world difficulty is so high that you're only getting bandit encounters in the city and get ganked to death or near death and captured as a slave and die in the next few days, which if you want to rebirth you have to have been pregante for the whole time which makes running away from said bandits even harder so then your only option is to do it your way and get fucked till you get your rebirth token and can finally start playing the game at lvl90 after you've gotten good and past the early game.
I got myself twisted because my world difficulty got like over 60 and I couldn't escape any bandit encounter cause they just swarmed me in the town and its hard to run away when youre pregnant and have to get stunned every 10 seconds fucking hell I couldnt even make it to the bank and back to the taver without getting ganked literally the only way I birthed that kid was save scumming the shit encounters away.
It's really not all that hard unless you're on ironman mode. If you're looking for things to do lvl 1 to farm rebirth you could just hang out in the inn and dance or prostitute yourself. You'll make enough money and gain a few levels. Then once you've had your baby, sell your ID to the conman for the gold coin and rebirth. You could also hire the Indiana Jones guy and clear out the graveyard or the mines a few times easily. Or if you want money fast, head to the arena and hide in the corner and spam the lantern attack to set everything on fire. The lantern is one of the strongest items in the game, really. And even if you lose in the arena, you still get paid.
