An interesting idea

Hello, we would like to share an idea we have that we believe would benefit itch.io greatly. Imagine if there was a way to upload a game and then set it to be publicly  downloadable at a later time.

The developer would upload the game onto itch.io and the game's page would state that the game download would be available at the release date that the developer set it to. This option would allow developers freedom to have a game posted on the date automatically instead of manually.

We hope that you will take this idea into consideration.

Thank you, and have a nice day.

Hello,

You can already do this by uploading your files then setting the Release date field in the Release Info section of the Metadata tab.

Tell me if you have any issues.

Thank you for telling us. We were unaware of this.

We have checked it out however, we were thinking of an online version of it that would be accessible through the game page and not via the app. Not everyone has enough space on their computers so having it readily available via the game page would improve the site.

Our game is a Windows game and not a phone app.  There is no way to upload a game and set a release time via the game's page via the app or otherwise.
