Hey there, I'm making a casual mobile game called Dr. Doc (working name)! It's catered to medical students and professionals, where they can practice their clinical knowledge in a fun and chill way. Think of a cross between Full Code and Good Pizza, Great Pizza

Link to clickable prototype I have so far.

Link to my elevator "pitch" (ewewughadkkjaks).

Narrative:

You, the Junior Doc, just got your license and are looking for your first job. You wind up working for a burnt-out Senior Doc and his run-down clinic. Together, you'll get the clinic back up and running by providing the best patient care!

Features:

  • Assess, diagnose, and treat your patients from their quirky dialogues!
  • Backed by realistic case studies
  • Earn money to renovate and decorate your clinic
  • Wide and diverse cast of patients

Who I'm Looking For:

Right now I'm a one-man team doing art, game design, and engineering (I can't code for my life halp asdjfdljg). I would love to focus primarily on art and project management, so these two roles are the highest priority:

  • Programmer / Engineer - I'm working in Unity/C# right now, but I'm also open to Godot! This is a UI/UX-heavy game, so experience with this would be great but not required - positions filled!
  • Game Designer - huge, HUGE plus if you have some clinical/healthcare/pre-med background - position filled!

I'm also open to collaborating with more roles! Such as:

  • Artists (character, environment, prop, UI)
  • Dialogue Writer (quirky and/or comedic) - position filled!
  • Researcher/Advisor (to check medical accuracy)
  • Sound Designer
  • Composer - position filled!

If you don't see your desired role but still want to be a part of Dr. Doc, message me anyways!

Compensation / Commitment:

This is a passion project (for now) and a portfolio piece! So unfortunately, there's no funding at the moment. That also means I won't be expecting too much time commitment from y'all (you gotta pay bills, I gotta pay bills), so definitely take what you can get!  However, once a playable prototype gets out, I'll definitely work on crowdfunding and rev-sharing. And, if by some miracle, it gets published, there'll also be ad revenue. But for now no promises :((

If you made it to the end of the post, omg tysm for reading my ramble. If you have any questions or are interested, drop your Discord handle and I'll be more than happy to chat with you! You can also reach me on Discord @potatotush#8449

Hi! I can't take one of the roles you mentionned but I can translate your game in French if this seems relevant to you ☺️

Thank you! Just messaged ^-^

Hi, I have some experience in C# consoleapps and some basic platformer stuff in unity but haven't done UI before. But I also art and compose my own music if that is helpful.

Yo your orchestral music is SO GOOD *^* , which role are you primarily interested in? We can also continue chatting on Discord! @potatotush#8449

Hey there! Just like for @CassandraP,  I'm still very early in the process and probably won't be needing translation until much much later in the pipeline (either when it's completed or successful). However, I'm happy to keep you in mind if I get to the stage!

Although, I can use an extra pair of programmer hands! This project is a learning process for me too and beginners are more than welcome. If you're interested in trying out developing, my Discord's up there!

I also can't help with any of the roles you mentioned as I'm still learning how to program, but if you want your game translated in Italian feel free to message me!

Should we start a group of amateur translators? xD

Ohh that would be so cool ahah, idk how to do that but I would be totally in!

Hey i already sent a friend request on discord, but I just wanted to post on here that I'd love to help you out! Your idea is pretty good and I'd like to make it actually become a reality! I'm still kind of a beginner Game Programmer, but have a lot of experience in unity with different prototypes I've made and I've help out my friends on their projects that they made.  I'm also pretty good at game design and at writing so let me know!

Just got your friend request! That’s amazing to hear, I’ll be messaging you later today!

Composer here, I've sent you a friend request on discord.

Thanks, I think I got your request!

Do you have room for one more? Unfortunately, I don't have a medical degree, but I am a game designer as well as a writer.

Haha medical degree's not required, and yes we have room for designers!

Sweet! Let's make magic.

I'm a producer at a UK-based studio, but compose for film/TV/games as a hobby-job and would love to be involved on the music side. I see there are other composers here too, but would be happy to contribute even if it's just  few tracks. Some of my work: soundcloud.com/ghostpicnic
