I think it would be helpful if a section in the developer docs covered hosting of games on itch.io with OAuth requirement.

Unlike github API the itch.io API has added 'X-Frame-Options' to 'sameorigin' constraint so it is not obvious or questionably possible to use the API from an embedded web game.

We'll have an official API client for web games out sometime. We intentionally block iframe requests and cross-domains requests right now for security reasons. Sorry about the delay.
