Video on AWS S3 as a Trailer

Total newbie here, so please be gentle!

Can I store my Trailer video on AWS S3?  The options seem to be YouTube or Vimeo, but I was wondering whether there is a video format spec that I could render my video in to run it from generic storage like AWS.

Thanks!

That's not the issue, embedding the video is. I don't think we have a video player of our own on the site.

Sorry to be dense, but how does the Trailer feature work? I assumed that was a video player or that it leveraged whatever video player was on the user device,   vs. just being a link to YouTube or Vimeo. Since my original question I have discovered that AWS S3 can be configured to support CORS, BTW. Thanks!

Far as I know, it embeds a video from one of the big hosting sites based on the URL. So it uses their players, which are built into the respective web pages. You can't simply put a video file on some file host somewhere and expect it to work on itch.io, that's not how it works.

At this time we don’t support direct links to a video file, instead we ask that you use a third-party service to host the video file (eg. YouTube, Vimeo), and we will embed it in the page for you.

Hope that helps
