Fortress on the Wild Frontier Released

I have just released the Fortress on the Wild Frontier campaign module which represents the first campaign my group played a couple of years ago as we were play-testing the HoA system. The module is clearly inspired by the 'Keep on the Borderlands' (the adventure which got me into D&D) and includes a wilderness fort, some adventure locations, settlements, NPCs and monsters.

The module is presented on the basis that you can pick and choose which elements you want to use but there are some suggested adventure plot lines you can follow if you would like some campaign ideas.

Thanks to my play testers and a handful of community members (Azaule, Greymark, Logen_Nein) who kindly helped review and proof read the book and helped polish it further.

The module has been written on a system neutral basis so it can be adapted for any system if you wish (the HoA stats are presented on the last couple of pages which can easily be swapped out with those of your own chosen system). The adventure can be downloaded for free here.

Thanks for checking it out, hope some people get some use from it.

Thank you ! I was waiting this one, I’ll see what I can use in my setting.

Thank you! I loved it!

Thanks for sharing!

This looks fantastic and will be a snap to adapt to my (or really just about any fantasy RPG) game system. Thank you for creating and sharing it with all of us!

Is there a preferred location hex for the Fortress module on the Fallen Lands world map?  I  can't find it if there is.

Hi Ken, any one of the hexes where the Farlands meets the Wildlands (right hand side of the map) would be an appropriate spot.

The intention for the Farlands map is for people to 'fill in the detail' and develop their own unique map during play.

Hope that helps.

It does, thanks. I will place the module on the border between the frontier and the Deep Country in our heavily house-ruled Into the Odd campaign. Your work is outstanding - in particular, the graphics and layout are professional-grade - and will be easy to drop into any campaign on the ItO - Knave - Mausritter-Cairn branch of the OSR family tree.

No worries, glad you can make use of the material. Thanks for the interest and taking the time to post.

This is really an impressive product. Perfectly laid out, enough detail - but not too much - to inspire, and a clear and consistent artistic theme thorough out the PDF. I am highly impressed with all your products. Great work!
