Hey, thanks for asking! No don't worry about it, it's good for me to hear when people have the same problem again. It helps me know what priority to put it at. Unfortunately I'm not sure I'll be able to include it in the next update, but definitely the one after that.
In the meantime, if you want to try the game, you could add a QWERTY keyboard layout to windows so you can swap between the AZERTY and QWERTY layouts easily. (Then you'll be able to play with your AZER keys). Here's a link on how to do that.
Let me know if you have any problems with it (or if you use a different OS let me know and I can try and link you how to do that in there).

The download version has some performance problems that should be solved in the next update. I'm working on some other updates to the beatmaking too, so I hope you'll try that out again when that's released.

'Downloading' the beats you make yourself should be coming in the next update (at least for the desktop version), and for the 'story' beats I'm planning to arrange all those beats into short tracks like this one and release that 'album' along with the full game.

Hi, thanks for asking! To clarify, there are 3 levels available to everyone for free. I'm also working to make a paid version of the game with around ~15/20 levels and I've finished about 10 of those levels. I also do closed playtests of the new levels sometimes, (I've only done one so far). I'm planning to do the next one of those in May. You can sign up for the chance to be a playtester here and I'll send out game keys to the people who are selected in May. (I'm not sure I'll be able to do everyone this time, as more people have signed up than I expected), but you'll still have a really high chance of getting a key.
I'll do a few playtests throughout the end of the year as I add new levels and tweak stuff. I'm still kind of focused on improving the core gameplay at the moment so I haven't done many playtests yet, but I'll most likely do a few more in the second half of the year.

To give you a bit more detail on what’s happening with the development, I’m planning to release an update to the game in a week or two. That’s mainly focused on the ‘beat making’ mode (the menu is unclear, so you didn’t see that mode in the video), but it also has a few other changes. It would be interesting to hear your thoughts on the update (particularly the beat making mode)!
Also you can sign up to be a playtester and have the chance to try new levels early here (although I do ask that you don’t stream those), the next playtest is planned for May and there will be ~10 levels total to try in that version. The long term plan is to release a full version as a paid game with around 20 levels. Hope that gives you a better idea of what is going on with the game.

I've had that feedback a few times so I'm planning to release an update to the game in the next week or two which would also let you use the arrow keys. In the future the plan is to add a settings menu to let you set any keys you want to play the game.
The only thing I would change about it is there should be an option for arrow keys. I'm not used to using w a s d for rhythm games.

The mixing in the game is a little bit rough at the moment, in the future I'm planning to change how I do mixing in the game engine. At that point I will also run through all the levels and adjust the volumes :)

Hi, sorry you're having problems playing the game. After clicking an instrument you can play the notes by pressing the correct QWER key when the falling circle is in the middle of the line. If you have a different keyboard layout you can also use the arrow keys to play the notes. Please let me know if you're still having problems

I was hoping that the game could be an introduction to people making beats, I wrote a long post here as a reply once explaining how I make beats if you're interested in getting into it more. Hi, so as best I know after the game is updated you lose all your local data, so any progress will be lost (at least in the web browser version). You should still be able to unlock play the 3 levels, but you'll have to play through again from the beginning. Let me know if that doesn't work. I'll see if there is a way to update the game in future that won't do that.

I'm using an iMac (21.5-inch, Mid 2011) and the game won't even open at all and I just get a message saying the game quit unexpectedly. The game last worked for me before the newest update.
Hmm, actually that shouldn't be the problem, that version should be supported. I'll look into it when I have time (later this week probably), it might be trickier to figure out.
Could you maybe fill in this form please? (You can just put in your email, I haven't set it up properly yet). I haven't got a computer with an environment like yours so it's hard for me to test whether it would work or not, I might need to send a build to you to test if it works. (Hopefully that won't be necessary, but just in case)

So you can actually play with the game with the arrow keys. The game doesn't communicate that very well at the moment, but if you just press the arrow keys the icons will switch to arrows and that should all work fine. I've also (finally) built a settings menu that lets you choose your key bindings so that will be coming in the next update~
Hi thanks for asking, there is a way to get it running on mac without installing the itch app but it's a little technical. This user wrote this post explaining how you would do that: https://itch.io/post/2823664. So feel free to try following those steps. Otherwise playing in your browser is also an option, the only real difference between that and downloading is fullscreen and being able to record your tracks to mp3.

I'm planning to announce what the plan is as soon as I know what's possible. Having said that, I'm going to keep doing playtests so if you sign up to be a playtester here. Hi, I sent out beta test keys to everyone who signed up before June 14th. The emails tend to go to the spam or promotions folder which is kind of annoying. But if you search your inbox for "Lo-Fi Room" you should be able to find in there it somewhere~
I will send out some more keys to people who signed up later, this week I think. So if you don't have a key yet, you should have one around the end of the week. But again you'll have to search for it.

1. you select the beat you made by clicking the white cassette for that beat.
2. click the button with the 3 dots on (bottom right corner)
3. Copy the text (Ctrl+C) and paste it in the comments section or wherever you want to share it.

For that week we were looking at rhythm games and this was the game that was assigned to play around with and consider in my games design course. We'll be submitting a short written assignment where we pick one of the four games we looked at (Tiny Islands, Cookie Clicker, Lo-Fi Room or Fragments of Euclid) then try to describe the core gameplay loops, systems and information presented.

Hi no problem :) no you don't need a new tester key to see updates, but it's going to be a while before the tester version gets updated.
I updated it fairly recently but that was just to fix some bugs (and test out doing automatic builds). I think it'll be a couple of months yet before there's another playtest release. If you want to make sure you have the latest update just either download the file again using the link OR if you're using the itch app you can select the game, click the settings cog, click manage and then check for updates there.
