I'm a mad man, but i will make 2 games and release one thats better, i recently discovered that psx games were getting more popular than 2d, so im learning blender to make one
1 2d
1 3d
same game
is this a good idea?
Do whatever you want. I have a backlog of ~15 projects I constantly switch inbetween whenever I get burned out.
It’s much worse when you end up being burned out on every project, but it’s okay otherwise.

I don’t trust such blanket statements. Firstly, I think you mean PSX-styled games. Secondly, they have been “hip” for many years by now, and are mostly an excuse to put little effort in modelling (just drag & drop a PSX shader and voila, “work”). Thirdly, real PSX and 2D aren’t mutually exclusive.
People have been predicting the supposedly inevitable death of 2D games ever since the 3dfx Voodoo. While there are ups and downs in popularity, that’s not really a reason to follow.

Making 2 games at same time isn't always a bad idea. However, releasing only the better one might be a waste of time (especially if they are pretty different) cause you have spent time on making them.
That being said, you should be making 2 games because you like both of them and will release both when they are finished. If you only want to release one in the first place, then just focus on one game.
