Add “SBS” to auto detection for file naming convention

Hello,

I recently purchased HereSphere for use with my new Quest 3.  I have a large library of VR video files on shared drive that I would like to watch.  The vast majority of them are named with the files naming convention “_180_sbs” which is used for auto detection by other media players such as Skybox and DeoVr.

Unfortunately it seems that HereSphere defaults to “mono” for these videos and I have to manually change the type to “side by side” using the Video Settings menu.

I know HereSphere will pick up “LR”,  but would it be possible to add “sbs” to the file name auto detection in a new update to the software ?    Or offer this as another advanced menu option for users to choose to enable?

This would allow me to use the same library file structure without having to potentially rename thousands of files, and adding more clutter to already long file names when the other media player software seem to handle “sbs” just fine.

Thank you,

- A New (paid) User of Here Sphere

Sure, I can add "_sbs" to the filename detection. It'll default to left-right side-by-side.

Hello, that is great news, thank you so much !  The software is great 👍 and I am enjoying the features.  I also have another question,  when logging into a shared network attached storage (samba) folder, it seems like I have to manually reenter my username and password before every session.  Is there an option to save the username and password so I don’t have to reenter it every time?  I will also search the message archives to see if this question has already been answered.

You can bookmark an SMB location with the user credentials. Click on the star icon near the upper left corner, and then press the plus icon to add the current SMB location to the bookmarks. The bookmark will appear in the left side panel. Click on it to load the SMB location with the user credentials.

thanks again I will try that bookmarking feature next time I login

I have some flat sbs 3d videos (K-pop music videos) with "(3D - Flat - SBS)" and "_SBS_FULL_2x1" in filename. Is there a specific filename hint that I can get it to detect correctly? I tried using _sbs appended to the end of the filename and it did not seem to work? Are there also any filename hints for the aspect ratio? Most of them are "High Definition" (e.g. 5120x1440 = 2560x1440 per eye = 1.78:1 = 16:9) in Heresphere, however some are "Widescreen"  (e.g. 5120x1090 = 2560x1090 per eye = 2.35:1); or did it fail to do aspect ratio automatically because it did not know it is flat/sbs?

to follow up with _LR it double aspect ratio (not taking into account 3d sbs i guess). it seems the only player that makes this error in aspect ratio autodetect

The latest updates should support _LRF (or _SBSF) file naming convention to specify full side-by-side, which will halve the aspect ratio.
