Because you posted a snippet that indicates that you know how to code and the button to format the text like so is literally the first button there is. So either you asked about something else, or you were not seeing the forest for the trees ;-)

Though that code button is quirky. You might need to post first as normal text and then format it. The other way round, it might appear on one line.
