I'm not sure what the difference between the payed version is or the free version? is the free version a Demo, or does the payed version just have cheats and other benefits?

The only difference is that the free version is a few weeks behind the current build of the game. I think only the Patreon Deluxe build has a few cheats, but there are tools for RPGM that let you cheat also.
