Dungeon Cleaner - a hack-and-slash prototype

Hi all!

I've been working on a prototype for a hack-and-slash game over the past week; I'd love for people to try it (in its very early phase) and tell me what they think! :)

The game's premise is similar to that of Vampire Survivors, where you kill enemies over time and upgrade your character with fun abilities and powers.

A bit of a twist that I'm working through is that the player navigates through different rooms. Each time you enter a room, all the others will spawn enemies and modifiers that scale them. When you enter a room, you can 'clean' and remove these modifiers or even specific enemies to lower the difficulty, but this will also lower the rewards you receive. This will hopefully present the player with the option of creating powerful builds while minimizing the deadly modifiers in their playthrough.

I haven't fully fleshed out how this will work, and right now, there are only four rooms that are interconnected (to simplify the game loop), but I'm hoping people can mess around with the combat and the current upgrades and let me know what they liked/disliked and any suggestions!

The description includes a basic how-to. Please note that all the art and sounds are placeholders, as I'm focusing on refining the gameplay and systems before adding much content.

Here's some screenshots from the games promo images.

I've been using Unity 2022 LTS, Aseprite and Audacity as my main tools.

Looks great good luck with it

Thank you!
