it has happened to me when i haven't used any soda throughout the game, just getting regular sleep (though with inconsistent time which i doubt the game cares about)
i don't notice much with climbing, it's just it randomly ticks down way faster including the hunger, faster than it even does in hard++
i'm thinking it's because it's sped up from sleeping, since i've noticed it right after i slept, i think it speeds up the stats going down so your hunger lowers while you sleep, but it doesn't turn off after you wake up
