Chances of getting to front page exactly?

I’ve been here for a few years and released quite some stuff. Recently I released Pigcrawl (not a link to the game, just one to the announcement). A free game I worked hard for a while. Did all the stuff I usually do, announcement page (that’s the link), devlog creation, okay(?) looking game page, funneled a few of my own views (~100) and downloads, made a decent-ish cover, but still, just like most of my other stuff, nothing.

(The cover in question)

Is it like a genre thing? Like certain genres have a higher chance to be featured or something similar?

I feel like I see horror games on the front page at all times.

The front page is https://itch.io/ and not https://itch.io/games

There are some horror games, but I just counted. From the 18 games listed first, only 3 have horror tag.

Has anyone ever suggested a filter feature?

Haha J/K

Even if it were a pure chance thing, how often do the games on the front page change and how many games are released daily? You will find, that even if you released a game daily, you might not get featured.
