I’ve been here for a few years and released quite some stuff. Recently I released Pigcrawl (not a link to the game, just one to the announcement). A free game I worked hard for a while. Did all the stuff I usually do, announcement page (that’s the link), devlog creation, okay(?) looking game page, funneled a few of my own views (~100) and downloads, made a decent-ish cover, but still, just like most of my other stuff, nothing.

(The cover in question)

Is it like a genre thing? Like certain genres have a higher chance to be featured or something similar?

I RELEASED PIGCRAWL!

Crawl your way through a large dungeon floor and try to survive and also possibly obtain the orbs of madness you need to escape.

Presenting…

A non-exhaustive list of features:

  • A complex environment, potions boil, gases burn and flames consume,

  • Goblins and other creatures that actively hunt and cook, with or without your presence,,

  • A dungeon that lives and breathes, giving birth to new life and destroying the old,

  • Explosions. Chain explosions. Oh, what’s that? Another explosions,

  • Up to 20 wands each with completely different effects, such as flames, teleportation and mind transfer.

  • And much more!

Give it a go! And be sure to help me continue development by way of donations and ratings.

It’s still not complete but it’s very playable.

Sometimes by chance I’ll get logged out (naturally) and then when I try to log in again the Two Factor stuff will come up. Okay, send it to my email. Nope, no new message. (Actually no new itch messages for my yahoo mail, and yes I checked).

Okay, turn off Two facto authorization. Wait, it’s “not enabled” in settings!? Then why does it say it is,

The only way I even logged in again now was by going to incognito(?? Idk why tho). Please fix or help me disable.

I completed the title cover image!! (kinda)

“Pigcrawl” is still the name of the game. Pig Potion Elf Dungeon was a … working title.

This is the menu where game modes/settings are selected. It’s gonna be great!

And some gameplay for yah

Look! I got the dragons in action (kind of)

Here’s a peak at the gameplay:…

I’ve come a long way from its initial stage:…

I added a Minimap, and an accessibility option to view who enemies are incase things get too confusing.

It’s almost ready to release for testing.

A gameplay pic.

As you can see it’s a pretty standard traditional roguelike by looks (except cooler looking and less ASCII…heh). The denizens of the dungeon just do their own thing but a lot of times that also means either hunting you down or gaurding their treasure.

I plan to add a lot of different creatures for variety sake (but they’ll all be different gameplay wise, don’t worry).

So far some of the stuff I have include…

  • will o’ wisps that sets stuff on fire
  • goblins and kobolds that are tribal
  • Ogres, really strong
  • Stone statues, activated to hunt down all things. Deactivated on default.
  • chickens
  • jackals that alert and are fast
  • bats that also alert and can fly over chasms
  • wolves, aka jackals ++
  • bears
  • PIGS!!!

And a few more like a gelatinous cube and a rat.

But for now I’ll try adding a dragon. The animation is hard…

I’ve been tampering with my roguelike to instead make it so you play as a pig in one big Dungeon.

The dungeon is planned to be really interactive, and have a lot of terrain things going on in the background. So far I’ve implemented:

  • Potions boiling
  • Animals hunting
  • Fire and gas system

I need to do wands and more potion effects (like explosions, polymorphism and MIND SWITCHING), but that would be for later.

Me working on the cover

I guess nothing gets front page…? But that should be unrelated to account visibility/penalization so no.

I just thought maybe it’s like a Reddy shadowban (the dread) where the account isn’t told or the algorithm marks my account to reduce visibility of projects because of that…

I made a new page a while back (gunroar.itch.io) that I wanted to be my main page (long story short, I just decided to stick with this one) and for one of my projects I tried to refer to it using this page (with a similar project but no downloadable, only a link to the project on my new page) But then I read this:

*If the page undergoes significant changes, or you need to adjust pricing or ownership rules, you can create a new page. However, if it appears you are recreating pages solely to boost visibility, your account may be penalized and no longer be eligible for our discovery features. *

And similar stuff like that. Is my paged penalized and if so I apologize and ask for rectification.

If your game is entered into a gamejam (without revealing itch.io’s algorithm) does it affect it’s chances of, for example, being featured by itch.io, or appearing more? Seems like it makes sense if it does, but then what about “gamejams” that aren’t really jams, but just a place to showcase your game or add to a bundle?

:3 Thanks, aah. I kinda saw that. Good luck.

Oh, yeah. I also remembered. You can do a video of my game if you want :3

Hey, don’t be too sad. Reddit bans me too without a care in the world :3

You’re an awesome person. Jesus Loves you (yes, Jesus loves everyone and wants everybody to treat each other well, despite what some authorities may say).

Don’t give in. Don’t give up. Pokém-oh, wait.

I’ve seen sometime pages order their games based on category (like “game jams”, “big projects” , etc)…

How could I go about to do this?

Back after a while, mine didn’t work out so well. Is it supposed to be in a playable state in terms of the controls?

Thank you! The “fuller” experience is coming soon :3

Thanks

Thank you for playing and for this. The game is still buggy and I appreciate any more bugs found. Nice.

Niiiiiccccce.

I made a new account and it’s been 3 days, still not approved. People think the account is giving out viruses (especially bad since the first game I released there was a GAME JAM GAME).

https://gunroar.itch.io

Heheh…it’s a very …very …long and complicated method that requires lua knowledge :). And it also crashes a lot. I just wish the creator would just make an official version :(

Oh, wow. Thank you for wanting to support me (^w^).

I kind of fixed the problem now and put it on $0 or donate, then after tomorrow I’ll probably set it back to its original $1. (^w^)/

I just found out in settings that my paypal is even connected. Does it just not work because they discontinued my country (2021 I think) or maybe because of another problem? (I keep hearing things like paypal can still be used to recieve, but I don’t know much about all these companies).

(1 edit)

Do I have to complete the tax interview or can I do it later before itch collects money for me?

Thank you, thank you very much.

Oh, sorry. It seems that paypal doesn’t support my country since 2021 (around the time I last checked it XD).

I just made it free for now, thank you for bringing this to my attention (no wonder my downloads have been low recently :P)

So … no? I once thought there was an option for itch to hold purchases that were made to you until you get an account fixed up.

I think sometimes when games are put in bundles they don’t make profit from the bundle, especially if said bundle is for charity.

One guy actually wanted to buy my game (:D) but it seemed my paypal wasn’t connected (:(), so I tried to connect it but it doesn’t work.

Can any other apps similar to PayPal (e.g, Opay) be used? My country isn’t allowed to use Paypal and Stripe doesn’t support it either.

Images :)

Hey, Fluttermind, I don’t know if you remember me but I was one of the first people who replied to your topic when you release Moonring back in 2021 (or 2020? I don’t remember :P).

Glad to see the game is getting more well known (especially with a small engine like Love2d :D).

Anyway, if you remember back then I talked some unreasonable things about an android port XD. But the game had to much typinis what you said (+shaders and it would run slower on android). (Of course I mean for tablets, because phones may be too small.)

Well yesterday, after remembering the game, I was so desperate to try it even though my PC had been broken for a while, that I downloaded it and tried to run it on Love for android! :P

After opening with your game (I hope that’s okay for now, heheh. No distribution of course) I messed keypressed to translate to keyboard.isDown and disabling shaders + forcing the game to ignore some errors I didn’t understand (line 16600, dang. 😅) I got it to run!!!! (Nice work with the mouse support! :D). I can fight and lose a game and move around and even shout when insane!

Anyway it still has a lot of bugs, but I love the aesthetics. I wish you could release a .love file version that just fixes a few stuff for a touchscreen device (like entering downstairs and map gen stuff).

No matter what in these jams I never make it (x-x) Well maybe next time…

Good job to those that made top 20! (And others too (>w<))

Cool. Since it’s inspired by brogue … android … version? :P

Came back to check your page. Seems like your “quick” game is really loved. >:3 Nice job!

(How many ratings did you get btw? XD)

Aaww, thanks. I tried to imbrace my inner kawai when making it (>w<)/

(Tip: try being extra - extra mean to all the questions >:) )

Thank you :)

Heheh. And no, he didn’t. He was too shy (0w0) (Though I didn’t have enough time to fix his dialog propally).
