Site has changed

With the site showing over 1million available games... The fact if you refresh latest games every 5 minutes two new games come along... The addition that if I want views, I now need to focus my marketing on itch, which is the opposite of just a few years ago, where it used to provide opportunities for new players to find my game.

I'm not against all this, I think it's great, and the Jam section is great, and new devs still have a place to shine.... But it has changed, indiepocalypse comes to mind...

What do you mean by indiepocalypse? I thought that was a game jam?

Also, I haven't been on this site very long, but before I started game deving I used to get very overwhelmed by all the games on the front page.

Basically, it means that the market is oversaturated. Too many games published per day, this leads to the visibility window being too small and what you publish is not going to be seen by many people (unless you prepare a plan to promote your game).

"Indie" is just not a tag anymore. On Itch it has no information value anyways, but browsing for indie games is just not feasible.

You need to browse for a nieche. There you have less "saturation". Two or three tags should do the trick. That can bring you down to less than 1000 games.

This here currently has 375 games
