I wanted to ask about save files. I'm downloading version 0.8.0 after playing version 0.7.0. Will I have to reset my progress or will the save file transfer over/ I can move the save file over versions? If anyone can give me a step by step process if it is possible I would be extremely grateful. 

You can transfer any transferable items through the mailbox, but you still have to start a new game which resets things such as points, and upgrades...

resetting objects in the reset menu is good enough, you can put any item you don't want to lose in the mailbox
