So, I'm on day 44 with the near-end blues, and a lot of stuff is happening since it's the last few days before #######. Power goes out, and an event starts. Whatever. Send Keith out to get it, he doesn't come back. Check the cameras, he's not there.
"Crap, he died."
WRONG
Check the radar, he's still there.

wait for the event to end, might be related to him. Event ends, nothing happens.
Eventually i grow enough of a pair to actually drive out and stuff him in a bag so I can reassemble him, but as it turned out, Keith didn't get annihilated, he just randomly deactivated as he got to the transformer.

TL;DR, My Keith unit randomly deactivated in the middle of the forest, next to TR_3.
What happened?

This is likely the  orb that serves as an EMP effect. Each time it enters the map, it EMP's power, which destroys Kerfur, as well. Welcome to the pain in the neck that is the endgame. lol.

Keith wasn't destroyed, though... He was only deactivated in the off state. All his accessories got deleted, too.

Hmm. Strange. I am unsure what this could entail then. That's what SHOULD happen to Kerfur, in theory, but mine always got destroyed by the EMP orb. By any chance, do you have prop impact physics on? At least, I think that's what it's called.

Not at all... Everything's mostly default besides some experimental stuff, but nothing that would cause this.

Hmm. I'm unsure then, being honest. He shouldn't operate on battery anymore, to my knowledge, so if it's not the EMP orbs, it might be an event for Kerfur specifically.

On another note, how do I FIND these EMP orbs? They are getting REALLY annoying... this is the seventh time now that I've had to rebuild Keith.
Edit: Ninth.

They just fly in and out of the map. They aren't an object or item.

I'm not sure those are just orbs, then... They drop alien corpses on your base...

It's just what I call them generally, because it's all I can ever see. But they do give off the EMP effect.

I've just realized; the last time I actually SAW one was several days ago, so it might be some undocumented anomaly. My transformers have been dying a lot recently too, so maybe there is something in my save i need to vaporize.

how often does the emp happen if you know?

I don't know exactly. Sometimes it can happen multiple times a day, but it stopped happening after a specific event.
