Generally there's not enough information about this anywhere.

I have waited for 20 days. I have rested for an additional 20 days. I have used healing potions. Nada.

Still, there's "Injured (2)", "Distracted (3)", and "Sensitive Lips (3)" in the status menu. WHY are there permanent debuffs you simply cannot remove that punish you for playing the game as anything less than the Virgin Mary? And if they aren't permanent, HOW do I get rid of them and WHERE is this communicated? Resting isn't doing anything, healing isn't doing anything - even though injured is explicitly only supposed to be for low health, no?

Please help.

Injured status effect is given when you have low HP. The worse the wounds the more severe it is. To recover HP I recommend find a nod on the map with bonfire icon and hit rest while standing right on it.

Distracted is an effect of being anally fucked a lot. Nothing you can do but rest. You can apply a lot of lube before being fucked.

Same with lips.

You can see how the status affects you in character status screen. You see base amd current stats. If current are lower than base, it means Strength, Agility, Perception are affected.

Sometimes status effects like Injured and Sensitive Lips carry on after battle. Go into another battle to remove the effects. Distracted is as Yanepedik said and sticks around so long as you're sore down there. Distracted can be negated with enough investment into the Focused perk or you can wait awhile in-game for the soreness to go away.
